Hello everybody. I was wondering what your opinion would be on how you would build a paladin and oracle of stone build. Right now my character is male dwarf oracle of stone. I would like to build him into a holy Vidicator.
He is level 1
stats str 16 dex 12 con 14 int 8 wis 10 cha 14
I was thinking to use at least 4 levels of paladin to get into Holy Vindicator.
I am curious on how everybody would build, especially spells and feats.
My limits are only core and APG only according to DM leveling would go up to 16.
the holy Vindicator is not 100% yet I am still on the fence.
Thank you for any input and ideas

Hey FF309 --
I love challenging builds! So a stone oradin? APG and Core only? So... no FCBs to worry about, and only a few archetypes.
I think the first question to ask is what would your oracle gain from taking Paladin levels, and what would you lose as opposed to just going up in oracle levels?
Here are the things that you gain for multiclassing off paladin:
- Level one -- all martial weapons, better armor proficiency, smite
- Level two -- divine grace, lay on hands
- Level three -- divine health
- Level four -- Paladin spells, more smite, channel
All cool. So what are you giving up? In exchange for better melee, you are giving up getting earth glide at 7 th as well as delaying your oracle spells. So what I'm curious about is why take the oracle dip?
What do you see your stone oracle levels offering to your paladin? What cool things do you see yourself doing?
Hmm
(Who plays a life oradin, and is generally curious about other oradin builds.)

I was thinking of using smite evil along with rock throwing revelation. Also I was wondering if it would be a good idea to go into holy vindicator. ( I was picturing bloody rocks thrown at evil doers.)

I thought life mystery was pretty key to the oradin build. Getting those life links makes you that healing battery that combos well with paladin. Stone lord paladin (I can't remember if that archetype is in the books you listed but fits the theme and is dwarf only. ).
True, but Life mystery seems very redundant to me. I was trying to go off the beaten path. I brought the stonelord archetype up to my DM. My DM stated to me only Core and APG only. Stonelord is in the ARG.

Well, It has been awhile since I was able to come back to this post. We have started in Rise of the Rune Lords. So, far we have achieved second level. I am thinking going four levels of paladin with the archetypes of divine defender and warrior of the light. My GM has stated only Core or APG for this adventure. My group consists of an invulnerable rager, a plain wizard, a plain druid and ranger guide focusing on archery. I felt that since I am going to play him as a follower of Torag. Using that guideline I am making him a defender and put him into protecting his allies
My plan so far
Lvl oracle of stone- rock throwing and feat extra revelation- mighty pebble
Lv2 and 3 Paladin feat saving shield
lv3 oracle
lv4-5 paladin feat ?
lv 6-16 oracle
I would like some ideas on what spells and feats to go from here.
Also I would like to ask this question. Does the smite evil or any other damage added to mighty pebble's initial hit also apply to others around the initial target? For example, I get to the point mighty pebble does 2d6. I throw at a big bad guy applying smite evil onto it as well. He has a couple of minions next to him. Do they take half of what he took or do they just take half of the 2d6 dice?

You aren't really building an oradin with this set up. The concept of healing battery of efficiency is the whole point of building an "oradin" not the mash up of the two classes. Oradin is a very specific concept. With that being said...
Your concept has got a few things going against it. 1) Heavy Armor means typically limiting your DEX as you won't be able to take advantage of it. 2) You are making yourself more MAD as you need both STR and DEX.to function in combat, as well as CHA for spells and pally bonuses. And supposedly CON for being in the front lines. 3) Mighty pebble is a pretty poor option. Limited damage and range, limited times per day, which is made worse by multiclassing. It will only start to get good at the time your casting starts to take off, and there will be better options in the spell list at that point. 4) Rock throwing can be pretty decent assuming there are rocks around to be thrown. Otherwise you will need to be hauling around this very heavy and special ammunition to use it. And again that feeds into needing a high STR (to carry and get damage from throwing) as well as DEX (to hit things). 5) Both classes tend to be feat starved, you are compounding the issue with split progression.
Just some food for thought.
