Why would this feat have both 8th level fighter AND BAB +1 as prerequisites?
In what scenario would an 8th level fighter not also have a BAB of at least +8?
Meaning, if the feat has 8th level fighter as a prereq, why bother also listing BAB +1?
Never know when people might house rule different things in the game, so the second qualifier is useful to them.
Just because it's not immediately necessary, I know a few games where a lot of custom work goes into recreating things and removes a lot of BAB from classes.
For instance lots of people remove "fighter only" from feats.

What you see listed are the prerequisites for both Greater Shield Focus (Shield Focus, 8th level Fighter) and that of its prerequisite feat, Shield Focus (Shield Proficiency, BAB +1).
Not quite sure why but perhaps they didn't want folk to have look up other feats to see the "path" of prerequisites that a character might take for any given build.
