Armor with Greater Angelic Aspect Price / Balance

Advice

Hi everyone,

My players have just hit level 13, and the Paladin wants to add Greater Angelic Aspect to her armor. She took the craft magical arms and armor a while back (and has the +2 CL trait to help), and I suspect the main reason was to be able to add this. The rest of the party didn't object to crafting, of course :P.

My calculation of the cost would be:
4th level spell * CL 10 (lowest CL, though hers is 12)*2000gp*2(its a 1min/lvl spell) + 16,000*1.5 (she has +4 armor and it is the lower cost thing, so it gets the 50% added on) = 184000 GP

If she makes it Paladin specific (which is thematically good imo) then it goes down to 128,800 GP.

I've approximated that in the 4 months of down time it will take to craft this, the players will go up 2 levels, so at that point it would be roughly half of her WBL. A quarter if I let her get away with paying 1/2 total price (if I do I'm totally throwing in a side quest of helping an Angelic being as part of this... hmm perhaps in that case I'll let it help her to craft it to speed things up).

I think this price is appropriate for a buff of this magnitude, but this is the first time I've GM'd a game up through these levels. Its also Paladin specific, and I expect it will help her keep up with the party casters (wizard and druid).

I would really appreciate the opinions of people who have played these levels about whether this sounds fair/fun.

Thanks!

Liberty's Edge

This is one of those things where just isolating the spell as the only pricing function can cause issues. Also, I would allow the "use for only X discount" with great caution.

On this specific case, I think this is the spell:
*********
This spell functions like lesser angelic aspect, except you gain low-light vision; darkvision 60 feet; DR 10/evil; immunity to acid, cold, and petrification; resistance to electricity and fire 10; a +4 racial bonus on saves against poison; and protective aura and truespeech as supernatural abilities for the duration of the spell. Also, your wings give you a fly speed of 60 feet with good maneuverability.

Protective aura provides a +4 deflection bonus to AC and a +4 resistance bonus on saving throws against attacks made or effects created by evil creatures to anyone within 20 feet. Otherwise, it functions as a magic circle against evil and a lesser globe of invulnerability, both with a radius of 20 feet.

Truespeech allows you to speak with any creature that has a language, as though using the tongues spell.
**********

So we have a few mechanics here

-Fly 60 (good) at-will
-DR 10/evil
-grants +4 save vs poison
-Resist fire 10
-Resist electric 10
-Immunity to Acid
-Immunity to Cold
-Immunity to petrification
-Low-light Vision
-Dark Vision 60 feet
-Grants +4 deflection AC and saves from evil sources to all within 20 feet
-Functions as lesser glove of invulnerability 20 foot radius
-Functions as Magic Circle against Evil 20 foot radius
-Truespeech
- Wielded weapons count as Good for DR purposes

That is a giant bag of powers to constantly be in effect (plus whatever lesser spell provides, which I don't have access to at the moment). This may be a situation where they need to be line item prices, using possible similar items as a reference. At work now, so a breakdown is all I can provide. I may be off, that looks crazy strong for the price.
