I just want to get clarification for Ekkie's power to draw a card when she discards. If I am reading right she gets to draw if she discards for any reason which seems really powerful, even more so when she adds the recharge.

Yes for any reason.
It isn't as powerful as it seems. First off, whether you discard one card or ten, you only draw one card. Second, you have to remember -- you just discarded / buried cards, so you are losing those, plus by drawing cards you are closer to having no deck to draw from.
Even if you add a recharge, sure you lose the "closer to death" part, but you now have less cards to work with.
It has it's benefits, but also has downsides.
Actually after rereading the recharge doesn't specify from discard so it would be from hand I believe.
