I'm confused about the cohort Sosiel Vaenic in Adventure Deck 1. If I remember the RPG version correctly, that character enters the campaign at the beginning of the second adventure, and I can see no card that would bring this cohort into play in this adventrue. What is he doing in this deck, then?

Sosiel Vaenic shows up in the first scenario of AD2 and is unused in AD1. However, it is possible he was slotted into AD1 due to there not being enough space in AD2 since each AD only has 110 cards.

Due to the Afghanistan principle, any card required in multiple sets must appear in B or 1. Otherwise you might have someone who owns (for example) AD5 but not AD3 go to play a scenario that requires a card from AD3, but be out of luck.

Mike explains the Afghanistan principle here. It is a rule governing how they design games, not a rule in PACG play itself, lest anyone be confused.

Ah, that makes sense; thanks, Keith and Hawkmoon! I like the name of that design rule. :)
