Are the Fiend Lords copyrighted?

Paizo General Discussion

Stupid question. Are Pathfinder's various fiendish demigods and quasi-deities open content? I know the mythological ones are, but I'm not sure about the others. Not complaining if they're not, just curious. Please move this thread if it's in the wrong location.

Some of them are, some of them aren't. It's all kind of a mess. Which ones in particular were you wondering about?

Actually... all of the fiends we've developed for Pathfinder and Golarion are copyrighted.

You can use their stats if you se the OGL and abide by its rules, but the contents you're using are still copyrighted. (This is how we're able to use the classic d20 stats for folks like Baphomet).

The flavor text is not open at all, of course, so it's best to go with the mythological ones since their "flavor text" is public domain.

As explained in past posts, you can for instance have a fiend named Demogorgon, but you can't have it be a two-headed baboon monster, because that is WotC IP

So I assume with Pathfinder fiends, you for instance could use Lamashtu, and keep some of the elements that are based on myth (rivalry with Pazuzu, association with child birth, etc), but you can't make her a jackal-headed, winged pregnant demon.

Correct.

Which demon lords have at least some partial alliance with Lamashtu?

Maybe partial non aggression pact would be more fitting.

Besides Pazuzu, which demon lords oppose Lamashtu at any instance possible even when it may cost them resources?

I was reading posts from James personal page and I thought I was on the Ask James Jacobs thread lol, I'll move the questions.
