Soulknife / bolt Psychic Strike with Emulate Ranged Weapon

If a Soulknife chooses the way of the Soulbolt and used Emulate Weapon blade skill, does their Psychic strike still have to adhere that the target must be within 30' for the extra damage to go through. If not what other ways can they increase this range?
