Familiars and scrolls?

Advice

Can familiars cast from scrolls? I'm not sure. I want my hawk familiar (which will soon be able to transform into a lyrakien at level 7) to cast a touch spell, breath of life, on me if I were to die. Help needed.

Is the spell on the scroll on your familiar's class spell list? Or does it have ranks in UMD?

Not Breath Of Life but other healing spells yes. So, probably a no on breath of life.
Use Magical Device Yes.

I don't believe spell like abilities, as opposed to spells from a class list, count for using scrolls.

A Lyrakien Azata would be able to use UMD with a scroll just like any PC could.

Familiars that could not speak or manipulate the scroll easily would have more difficulty. I believe in PFS though, familiars can never use wands/scrolls/etc.

In PFS even a lyrakien can't use a scroll?

Not true. PFS allows casting from wands from a limited set of improved familiars. Faerie Dragons (available as a boon from one chronicle sheet only) are especially good at this, and can also cast from scrolls, as they cast spells like a 3rd level sorcerer.

EDIT: I may be wrong. When did they change this? I remember Faerie Dragons and other creatures with hands using wands in PFS.
