Vortex Spells revelation and weapon-like spells (Flame Blade, Spiritual Weapon)

Rules Questions

Does the Vortex Spells effect trigger, when I critically hit with my Flame Blade or my "summoned" Spiritual Weapon critically hits?

Furthermore, does my Flame Blade that is treated as a scimitar, have a scimitar's threat range?
The Spiritual Weapon certainly does.

What or other spells that should work with Vortex spells and have a better threat range than your standard ray attack?

What about a Magus' Spellstrike?

Yes on Flame Blade and Spiritual weapon.

No on Spellstrike, because you're not attacking (and thus not critting) with the spell, you're attacking with a weapon and benefitting from double spell damage if you crit with the weapon.

That's not correct. The spell still crits, it just uses its own damage modifier "but the spell effect only deals ×2 damage on a successful critical hit,". Spellstrike doesn't change how the spell portion of the attack functions in any way, it just lets you deliver it with a weapon attack rather than a touch attack.

Sounds like somebody has a build in mind. No save Staggering Critical at level 3!

Yes, a Samsaran Oracle can have both spells. But spells are still a limited resource...
