Help me Build a Scaling Magic Weapon for a Dragon God Cleric

Advice

So just what it says on the tin. I dislike the disposable magic weapon economy and would like this weapon to scale with the PC as they level. I'm familiar with the Weapons of Legacy clusterf*** but I would prefer something similar to what was done in the Legacy of Fire campaign with the main PC weapon leveling when the PC does.

Probably a similar level spread to what was done in LoF. Simple +1 weapon at level 1-4, with extra features added at 5-7, 8-9, 10-11, and 12-13 - with the possibility of adding some fun powers later on.

It's a Heavy Pick, that (given that he's level 6 so far) is a +1 Keen Heavy Pick. I'll likely bump it to +2 at level 8-9 but I'm trying to get some ideas for other powers as well...

Thanks all.

Need to know more about the cleric/campaign/other weapons.

Are you playing a typical heroic? level campaign or something way different?

How does the cleric act in combat, are they actually swinging the pick (why a pick)? What god?

Do the other weapons have generic weapon abilities or something more unique that weapons can't normally do?

Figure out where you want it to cap out at and the details of the character before anything else, I'd think.

It's actually a weird little campaign. It's a police procedural style that often gets sidetracked by the large number of players. One of them just twigged really early onto a clue and I had to scramble to cobble together a dungeon crawl. Right now they clock in around level 5-7. It's roleplay heavy, but combat does come up (and because these guys are all cops in some way, they often don't keep much of the loot they find. I'm trying to mitigate this by giving them some much needed gear to scale up...)

The campaign is set is Monte Cook's Ptolus, and the cleric is a cleric of Bahamut that is a member of the dragon Dallimothan family. The Heavy Pick is actually Bahamut's chosen weapon for some reason, so that's what I made him. He's a pretty armored cleric, trying to replicate the dragon thing, and generally spellcasts and fights when needed. He's not a huge frontline fighter, but he's held his own well enough - along with a breath weapon that he busts out every once in a while.

Not sure I understand the last question.

To rephrase the last question: are the weapons that you're designing for the rest of the party all ultimately "+5 Keen Dancing Greatsword", or are they "+4 Keen Greatsword with intelligence and has a charge-regenerating Rod of Spell Absorbing"?

Not really designing any weapons for them at all, so far. This is just cause he's a guy that the concept of such a weapon kind of fits.
