Advanced Player's Guide Pregens

Will we see Pregens of the Advanced Player's Guide Classes, available for Organized Play, anytime soon?

Sovereign Court 4/5

I believe the official answer is that they're under development, and will be available at some unspecified future date.

That said, the PFS team have approximately twelve million different things going on. Time spent developing the pregens is time that isn't being used to develop new scenarios, sanction new content, edit the next edition of the Guide, etc. Personally, I'm perfectly happy with that particular item being relatively low-priority.

Grand Lodge

Soon? I can almost guarantee we will not see them soon.

Ever? That is a little less sure. That said, I doubt it as one of those classes was just severely changed.

Remember, the Advanced players guide classes were for Advanced players. Pregens are supposed to be simple for a new player. Thus we have a bit of a contradiction, one I do not see being resolved any time soon.

Yet we have pregens for all the classes from the Advanced Class Guide.

I wrote the stats part for the APG pregens and Seltyiel before the ACG pregens, but the trouble is that a lot more goes into a pregen than the stats part, and the PFS team pretty much always has something else that's on fire (John and Linda were pulling 11-12 hour days last week and the week before to get both Specials out for Paizocon, and they have 9 scenarios* worth of stuff to go between now and Gencon).

*Where a 1-11 counts as two scenarios and a set of quests counts as one scenario.

I don't fault Paizo for being busy.

It is just that my favorite Iconic, Imrijka, the Inquisitor, is still not an available Pregen for PFS.

That does disappoint me.

Any update on this? I noticed we have pregens for Occult Adventures but still not APG.

Thanks.

I doubt he Advanced Player Guide + Magus pregens will come out anytime soon if ever. I don't think the Advanced Player Guide + Magus pregens are high enough priority to make. There isn't any dead line by which they have to be made. The Occult Pre gens came out to support the sale of the Occult Adventures book. Last year the ACG pre gens came out to support the Advanced Class guide. The Advanced Players guide and Ultimate Magic have been out for several years.

This of course is understandable with the work loads the Paizo staff has. However I'm still hopeful they will be put out some time.

I believed they would not be released, either, which spurned me to start creating the 1st level APG Iconics myself, but when I was halfway through with them two different higher ups said they were already in the works, so I backed off.

Alain demands perfection! He doesn't want to be a lesser pregen that gets passed over for another one or worse, requires improvement afterwards. He is willing to wait until the development team does him right and they have so many other things going on than listen to his insane demands.

It sounded like from an earlier conversation that we almost got the APG pregens for Gencon, they just ran out of time on them. I would expect that once we get a shiny new Global Coordinator we'll see some of the backlog of projects get tackled.

You're assuming that they don't release an Unchained Summoner pregen.

They did release the summoner iconic as an unchained summoner for Fane of Fangs.

He is a 5th level Summoner with a Protean Eidolon.

So most of the work on him is already done :)

So, is it to be a race, then?

APG/UM vs. UC for who gets all of their Iconics available first?

That wouldn't be an APG pre-gen then. It'd be an Unchained! pre-gen.

Count it, it's close enough. Quit arguing for the sake of arguing.

Clarification is important. The APG Summoner is different enough from it's Unchained version to be an entirely different class, with the Eidolon, Spell lists being majorly worked over. Also pretty much none of the archetypes carry over either, save for Evolutionist.

If they actually got say, the Cavalier iconic into play via pregen, more folks might interested in picking up the APG what don't have it already?

Just saying.

We will get around to this. The resources that would have gone to doing this instead went to bridging the gap while we looked for a new Campaign Coordinator.

Since our new Campaign Coordinator is now happily in place, we'll put this back into the mix once the PFS team has had a chance to catch their breath.

*humbled*

Resources better spent in that direction. No butt-kissing. Looking forward to the results!

Edit: Thank you for the feedback!

Poking the bear, on behalf of my local community, I've had three requests from three different people at three different events all asking for Feiya, two of those from new players who really just want to be a witch. The third was my wife, but mostly so when I mentioned to the players that "<my wife's name> is playing a witch" she leaped up from the table to shout "I'm not a witch I'm your wife!" (She apparently plots her jokes out many weeks in advance....)

So one bad joke and two earnest requests, please APG pregens,

Cheers

I know the PFS team is busy, but maybe they could outsource this job to a starving student who's already laid down some of the groundwork?

Hmm
