Consider the Oni subtype:

Quote:

An oni is an evil spirit who takes humanoid form to become a native outsider. All oni have the following traits, unless otherwise noted in a specific creature's entry.

Darkvision 60 feet and low-light vision.
Change Shape (Su) All oni are shapechangers with the shapechanger subtype, but an oni takes only other shapes similar to its normal humanoid form.
Humanoid Shape: As evil spirits clad in humanoid flesh, all oni possess a humanoid subtype.
Regeneration (Ex) The rate of regeneration and damage type that suspends it depends on the type of oni, but is typically acid or fire.

The Spirit Oni, on the other hand, only has darkvision when compared to the subtype's list of traits. Its lack of Humanoid Shape is clearly "noted otherwise," and the lack Change Shape is somewhat vaguely noted as an exception. But the lack of low-light vision and regeneration? Are those omissions errata, should one just assume there to be a note naming them as exceptions, or are they also possessed by the Spirit Oni--much in the same way that undead, elemental, and other subtype traits aren't always explicitly enumerated?

Regeneration would have to include more that you get from the subtype, specifically rate and the damage type it suspends, so it is quite obviously not present, which should be considered 'noted otherwise'.

Since the vision types are specifically listed, and low light is absent, that should probably be considered noted otherwise as well.

Sovereign Court

It's fairly common design for the CR2 member of a species to lack a couple of the type abilities, otherwise it might not stay CR2.
