Will Stone lord work in Wotr?

Wrath of the Righteous

I'm just curious if this archetype works well in the Wrath of the Righteous. And I'm also curious about what people who have played this archetype have to say about it.

No direct experience. I'll go have a look at it once I'm up. It's almost certainly an offensive downgrade from regular paladin just by dint of lacking smite evil, though.

Well, they lose most of the standard paladin's advantages against evil outsiders - no ignoring DR, no bane weapon bond, no paladin spells. Very few demons will be able to bypass their adamantine DR, though. And if you're playing a Champion, the Stolen Fury trait eventually gives you an out.

And "not as good as a regular paladin in Wrath of the Righteous" is not a black mark. If anything, you're doing your GM a favor by playing something that's merely effectively contributing. :)

Liberty's Edge

Yeah, Stonelord is solid, but way less focused on Evil opponents, and thus less powerful in WotR specifically. It'll be more on par with a Barbarian than a Paladin in many ways.

Thank you both! After looking at the archetype, while a cool concept it wouldn't quite fit in wrath of the righteous. It would fit in something like second darkness or rise of the ruin lords. But yeah a dwarf would most likely take the oath against fiends especially if the fiends shaved the hair and beard of a relative or friend. Proverbial light bulb comes on: idea for another character! This is why I love pathfinder and d&d! You can create such amazing characters!

Do not! I Repeat DO NOT TAKE OATH AGAINST FIENDS I know it sounds like a no Brainer but trust me, it ruins more Wrath of the Righteous campaigns then any other Archetype or class, trust me, it'll only end badly if you do :-)

Yikes! Thanks for the timely warning!

No problem :-)

Anything else Paladin related should be dandy :-)

Cool. Sadly I have a gm who's a bit of a you play only what's in the core book. XP

Oh well. But I appreciate the help and answers and warnings.

That style never made sense to me, classes and races from other books are just as squishy as the Core classes, I can't tell you how many Alchemists I've had die :-)

Yeah I know what you mean if the extra books weren't worth it why print them? But the extra races and classes add flavor and make the game even more exciting!

Is this because of the whole redemption element in his campaign?
