Dexterity to damage

Hi everyone!
I think the various ways to add dexterity to straight damage (agile weapons, slashing grace, dervish scimitars) put the strength stat to shame, I mean, who would build a STR character when a DEX one has so much more synergy with mobility, AC, reflex, initiative and skills?

So I was thinking to houserule dex-to-damage in this way. Suggestions are appreciated.
If you would get dex to damage, you instead add dex to critical hit damage (not multiplied), and to attacks that would qualify as sneak attacks if you were a rogue. This extra damage is considered precision damage and is not multiplied on a critical hit, but if you get both a sneak attack and a critical hit, you add double your dexterity.

I think this modification lets characters who want to rely on their dexterity to hit vital spots to still do so, while doing less damage than a strong fighter would. The benefits of a high DEX are already wider than the benefits of a high STR, even without DEX to damage.

What do you think about this?

I've allowed Dexterity to damage with only the Weapon Finesse feat for all of my campaigns for four years. It has never been an issue, and Dex-based characters have never outpaced the raw power of a Strength build. Really. It isn't an issue, and doesn't need complex solutions: just let them have it.

I can't be more serious.

This has been discussed to death.

I make Weapon Finesse free for all characters and my players can take the Deadly Agility feat from Path of War. I already made plenty of arguments explaining why Deadly Agility is a balanced and well designed approach to Dex-to-damage.

Don't need a more complicated solution than that.

Pretty much this, dex build are expensive, take too many feats etc...to put it quite simply dex build are a trap. Reflex saves don't matter, fortitude saves and will saves are way more important, AC at higher level is barely worth having, Initiative you are still getting beaten by mages (Divination wizard +30 to initiative lol) etc...

STR build, especially if they use two handed weapon only need one thing: Power attack and I'm not even kidding. Everything else is icing on the cake, which means, high strength characters can get feats to improve their saves, AC, Initiative, skills , hp etc... and put other magical abilities on their weapons and armors that can provide some utility.

Let me repeat what the others have said:

DEX-to-damage should just be available for free or available as part of Weapon Finesse. It's not as great as people like to claim it is. DEX builds are intensive in a lot of ways and usually don't come online until after strength builds.
