I did something like this once, which I plan to rework as a summoner archetype for my Firbholg race. A lot of evolutions still work, and there are lot of new possibilities you can add. For example, I made several which changed the material the construct was made out of, which made some fairly significant alterations.
I'll try to remember to share it here when it's done.

May I suggest the following? Depending on what you are looking for.
If you want a Summoner/Wizard hybrid type class with a golem-esque eidolon, and that can summon constructs then take a look at the Clockwork Mage.
Now, if you don't like the wizard stuff that's added, and all the swap outs and want a more summoner archetype, then just add the spells listed in the Spellcasting ability to the Summoner spell list, use the Clockwork Eidolon class feature, and replace the summon monster list with the Alternate Construct Summoning List. That leaves all the class features of the Summoner unchanged, but tweaks the eidolon, spell list, and summon Monster/gate class featrues.
If you want a Warpriest/Summoner focused on animated object, try the War Animator.
But I think the Clockwork Mage is what you are looking for, at least the few aspects of it I listed.

I would also say: go with the summoner.
I think some slight changes to it (aka an Archetype) would be enough.
- Eidolon get the contruct subtype (no BP)
- remove all "magical" evolutions
- summon monsters get also the contruct subtype (no BP)
- remove and add some spells to the list and reflavour them as "tinkerings"
If you want to go more for a "Battlefield" Contructor I would remove the spells completly, give the summoner MWP and MAP and some su abilities like "sharing your combat feats with your eidolon for X rounds"
