Is fire resistance common?

Mummy's Mask

Hey guys,

I'm starting a Mummy's Mask campaign and I wanted to make some sort of pyromancer. I am just wondering if fire resistance is a common occurrence in this campaign since my DM told me that he did not really think it was going to be an issue in the first book. I am curious if this will be a problem later on.

Thanks.

No, but certain enemies are smart enough to cast protection from fire to lessen their fire vulnerability.
Other than that, just the occasional evil outsider here and there, nothing to worry too much about. Just keep a second element handy when needed.

Scarab Sages

The oracle in my game is a fire mystery. She has no problems. A few of the enemies' resistances have caused her to change tactics, but her metamagic rod of energy changing to acid comes in handy.

By and large, though, fire works good except for those few outsiders that shadowkras mentioned. Also, mummies = vulnerable to fire! The mummified creatures later in the AP, though, have some varying vulnerabilities since that template is a choose your resistance / vulnerability instead of a mummy's strait V to Fire.
