Been talking to someone about it the other day
I've been trying for that one for ages. Got a hankering to play a Kitsune trickster of some sort.
I would love a Jade Regent campaign. I've got a kobold ninja that I have been wanting to toss into something for a while now. Perhaps he's joining the caravan to travel to the east and find the ones who gave his tribe the ninja arts in the first place... because that would be awesome!
I've got a ranger that would like to play :)
I'd love to play in one if someone starts one up!

Well if I did it myself I wouldn't have "reserved" PCs and you could certainly be asian themed. Ameiko isnt the only asian family to have come over, the AP says that right in the players guide. I don't own the full AP though nor do I even own the 1st bestiary yet.

Far as I can tell, Trux's PbP only says that you are not expected to bring in a Tian character. This doesn't mean that you can not do so. That aside, reserving a spot or two is fairly common due to RL friends, previous PbP friends, etc. Moreover, only one reserved spot still leaves four open.
