Looking for 3rd party product to replace the big 4 magic items as inherent bonuses

Advice and Rules Questions

I am pretty sure that one exists, but I have no idea where to find it. I'd prefer that it contains exceptions for classes such as the Soulknife since they already inherently gain magic weapons, so a system like this wouldn't benefit them nearly as much.

You don't want your +Stat to have an "inherent" bonus.

The Vow of Poverty feat from 3.5e did a little bit of what you're looking for, gave enhancement bonuses to stats and saves. If you can find that still roaming around the internet, it may be what you're looking for.

You are right, I don't want it going to the ability scores. Forgot about them a second there.

I didn't consider Vow of Poverty. It makes a nice skeleton that I can modify in case nobody has made a product for this. The downside is that classes such as Soulknives, Black Blade Magus, and Armorist need a lot of special attention since their main class features focus on free gear.

I wouldn't worry that the effects of VoP would negatively affect those classes when worrying about game balance. I'm pretty sure the Magus could use a boost anyway for when it can't nova.

Why are you waiting for a third party product? You know what you want... just put it in.

Considering that the armorist and soulknife spend a majority of their class features getting free gear, a change like this, if not adjusted for them, is incredibly detrimental to their class balance. I do have to worry about them because my players like them.

And I want to see another person's rules for it because seeing someone else's ideas may give me inspiration. Their implementation may also be superior to mine. Why wait for any 3rd party product when you can homebrew it?

It's a variant of the original feat, but it works just fine.

That is a better base to work from than the original. If nothing else comes up, I think I will just trim off what I don't want, and allow certain classes to have a choice of a few scaling abilities I make up.

Thinking Soulknife will get offered 2 or 3 bonuses, the Armorist 1, and the Black Blade also 1.

It's not from a 3PP, but you might want to check out Pathfinder Unchained when it comes out.

I like the sound of that actually.

I didn't realize that this would be included, but that makes me very happy. I wanted that book anyway, so you just gave me another reason!
