blaster plus elemental spell

So i am wanting to make sure i got this right.
If i have a sorcerer and i take the orc and draconic cross blooded for the +2 dmg say i pick fire .
now if i add elemental spell to change the dmg type to cold , i still get all my dmg bonuses because it does not actually change the descriptor?

now if i use the admixture wizard ability i would not get the extra dmg because it changes the descriptor, but i could add rime spell to it?

This is all correct. If you use metamagic elemental spell to change the damage type, it does not change the descriptor. Admixture Wizard does.

this makes fire really good , blast everything that isn't fire resist and switch for those that are with only a +1 lv bump penalty
