I went a few years ago and my first time going in about 10 years. I thought it was lack luster. Me and a friend could only go for one day. We both not into Pathfinder Society organized play. So we signed up for the only Pathfinder game that was not Pathfinder Society. Turns out the listing was wrong and it was Pathfinder Society. So my friend and I had to spend the first hour making PFS character that we were only going to use use once, holding up the game for everyone else, because they could'nt get the listing right. This is after we had to walk around asking people where the game was because the person whose job it was to write out on the big board what games where at what room and table was 2 hours late getting up and getting it done. Very unprofessional. I could maybe over look one of those, But both same day really left a bad taste with me.
I am not putting down PFS play, but its not my prefence on playing. I'm old school where at a con you sit with a bunch of players and have the pre gen characters handed out.

I will not be going this year, alas, but Iron GM IS the awesomest evah. If GM Chris Pierce is competing, I highly recommend playing at his table.
Actually, alas, it looks like it's coming up too soon for me to pull it together this year.
Next year, perhaps.
I was just talking with a good friend who evidently knows one of the organizers, so I'd love to check it out.
