Hey guys, Ive been seeing a lot of fun takes on reviews. So I'm going to try something as well.

I want to tell a short story involving your item! For me, this is going to be about 5% critique, and 95% writing practice. For you, the item's creator, it will be able to show you just the visual you are giving people with your items.

The stories will only be about a few paragraphs. But if I really liked your item, you might have a bit more.

So come one, come all!!! If you want in, post your item in this thread in a spoiler tag. I look forward to your replies!

Sightstealer Rapier:

Sightstealer Rapier
Aura moderate necromancy; CL 6th
Slot none; Price 13,120 gp; Weight 2 lbs.

Description
This +2 rapier’s cup hilt appears as an open eye, and the blade itself protrudes from the iris.

Once per day when the wielder successfully strikes a target with the rapier, the wielder can activate the rapier as a free action to force the target to attempt a DC 13 Will save. On a failure, the target is blinded and the wielder’s eyes take on the appearance and qualities of the target’s eyes (granting the wielder low-light vision and/or darkvision up to 60 ft. if the target normally possesses these senses).

This effect lasts for 3 hours and cannot be dispelled, though it can be removed from the target by remove blindness-deafness, remove curse, break enchantment, or similar effects. If this effect is removed from the target, it is also removed from the wielder.

Construction
Requirements Craft Magic Arms and Armor, blindness-deafness; Cost 6,720 gp

Chrysalis Carapace:

Chrysalis Carapace
Aura strong abjuration; CL 14th
Slot armor; Price 65,800 gp; Weight 40 lbs.
Description
This +3 reflecting suit of full plate armor is sweet smelling, honey-tinted, and made from layers of the discarded cocoons of giant moths or gloomwings.

Any creature worshiping a deity with a nature theme may add this armor to the list of armors in which she is proficient.

Three times per day the wearer can command the chrysalis carapace to form a split in the back with a loud cracking sound and sprout delicate looking butterfly wings. The wearer gains a fly speed of 40 feet (perfect) for 10 minutes. At the end of this duration, the wings furl back into the armor and the split seals itself.

Once per day the wearer can will the chrysalis carapace, as an immediate action, to force any one creature casting a spell to make a concentration check adding the wearer’s level to the DC. If the target fails the concentration check, the spell is lost to the caster and absorbed into the armor. Absorbing a spell in this manner causes the chrysalis carapce to open dozens of ragged slits and diaphanous, winged insects to pour out over the armor, granting the expeditious armor special ability for 1 hour.

Harlequin's Hurlbat:
Harlequin’s Hurlbat
Aura Moderate Illusion and Transmutation; CL 7th
Slot None; Price 45,000; Weight 2 lb.

Description
A well balanced steel hurlbat bound in colorful ribbons that catch the eye, it creates a distinctive whistle as it spins through the air.

This +1 returning hurlbat feels most at home in the hands of a performer. The wielder can attempt a DC 15 Perform (juggle) check as a standard action and can maintain it as a move action on subsequent rounds. Activation conjures three +1 hurlbats each with a range of 30 feet and affects the wielder with a mirror image spell creating 1d4+2 illusory doubles.

The wielder can throw a conjured hurlbat as a standard action. A struck opponent takes damage normally and must make a DC 15 Will Save or be dazed for one round as the bright ribbons disorientate them. When all three conjured hurlbats are thrown or the performance ends the mirror image doubles and conjured hurlbats disappear.

This effect may be activated 3 times per day.

A bard wielding this weapon gains the martial weapon proficiency: hurlbat; and increases the save DC for any bardic performance using this weapon by +2.

Construction Requirements Craft Magic Arms and Armor, abundant ammunition, daze, mirror image, telekinesis; Cost 22,500 gp

Sarenrae's Desert Caller:

Sarenrae’s Desert Caller
Aura strong conjuration and transmutation; CL 14th
Slot none; Price 48,830 gp; Weight 4lbs.

DESCRIPTION
This +2 defending scimitar appears sand-blasted and pitted from lack of proper care. Upon closer inspection the blade appears to shift and swirl like sand on the desert wind. The weapon feels lighter than normal and glowing yellow motes of dust seem to trail in its wake when wielded.

When a worshiper of Sarenrae has the weapon drawn and casts a conjuration spell, a mini-sandstorm erupts from the sword, engulfing the caster’s square. This sandstorm protects the caster by providing total concealment against attacks of opportunity triggered by the casting of the spell. The sandstorm does not impair the caster’s concentration, line of sight or any other senses. The sandstorm lasts for the duration of the casting time of the spell and then dissipates.

While the sword is drawn, all creatures summoned by the wielder via spell gain the sand creature template instead of their normal template.

Sand Creature Template (CR +2)
Creatures with the sand template are formed of sand, dust and ash particles from the elemental plane of fire. A sand creature’s quick & rebuild rules are the same.

Rebuild Rules: AC increase natural armor by +5; Ability Scores +4 Str; Senses gains blindsight 60ft.; Defensive Abilities gains DR 5/bludgeoning; immunity to all mind-affecting effects; immunity to bleed, critical hits, paralysis, poison, sleep effects, sneak attacks, and stunning. Staff of Entwined Elements:
Staff of entwined elements
Aura moderate conjuration and evocation; CL 11th
Slot none; Price 98,550 gp; Weight 5 lbs.

Description
Formed from lengths of ivory, oak, copper, and basalt, braided together by craft and magic, the staff of entwined elements is topped with a crystal orb containing a white continual flame. It functions as a +1 quarterstaff, enhanced only on the orb end, and allows the use of the following spells:

  • Lightning bolt (1 charge)
  • Scorching ray (1 charge)
  • Acid fog (2 charges)
  • Cone of cold (2 charges)
  • Elemental assessor (Chronicle of the Righteous)(2 charges)

While a target is under the effect of the staff's elemental assessor, the continual flame on the staff's head changes color based on the element of the ongoing damage (red for fire, yellow for electricity, green for acid, or blue for cold), and attacks with the staff's enhanced end deal an additional 1d6 damage of that type. While this effect is ongoing, the duration can be extended by expending charges from the staff (a swift action) at a rate of one minute per charge.
When casting any spell besides elemental assessor from the staff, an additional charge can be expended to change the spell's descriptor and damage type to any one of fire, electricity, acid, or cold. This does not change the spell's casting time.
In addition to the normal method of recharging a staff, the user can restore one charge per day to this staff by expending one use of an elemental metamagic rod or greater elemental metamagic rod.

Construction
Requirements Craft Magic Arms and Armor, Craft Staff, Elemental Spell, acid fog, cone of cold, continual flame, elemental assessor, lightning bolt, scorching ray, the creator must either have the admixture arcane school or have Elemental Spell at least twice; Cost 49,450 gp

(CL 11 cost: 39600 spells)
(CL 12 cost: 43200 spells)
8300 gp +1 Elemental Quarterstaff price, 4300 cost
11000 gp elemental metamagic rod price, 5500 cost
50 gp continual flame
(((CL 11 cost: 40700 spells, 42900 intensified lightning bolt) -5500 cone of cold 2 charges, +4400 elemental assessor 2 charges)((CL 12 cost: 44400 spells, 46800 intensified lightning bolt) -6000 cone of cold 2 charges, +4800 elemental assessor 2 charges))

since it's a somewhat utilitarian item. Then again, maybe not. Elemental assessor does have some flavor written into it, which could be taken or left...

Norgorber's Lens:
Norgorber's Lens
Aura moderate conjuration and illusion; CL 10th
Slot shield; Price 24,155 gp; Weight 7 lbs.

Description
This smooth ebony +1 buckler is polished and worn so thin in one corner that the curved black stone forms a translucent lens 6 inches in diameter. The lens slightly magnifies the view from behind the buckler, but peering through the front makes everything behind it appear distant and distorted.

Three times per day when fighting defensively as a full-round action, the wielder of Norgorber's lens can plunge any melee weapon through the back of the lens, its point emerging anywhere in the wielder's line of sight within 30 feet as though the wielder was adjacent to the target.

Once per day, the wielder of Norgorber's lens can consume all remaining attacks to warp reality between himself and the buckler for a number of rounds equal to twice the number of attacks consumed. To all creatures in a 100-foot cone facing Norgorber's lens, the buckler appears to float in mid-air with the wielder hidden completely behind it regardless of his size, granting the wielder total concealment and the AC and Stealth bonuses of a Tiny-sized creature. Outside of the cone, the wielder retains his normal appearance and gains no benefits.

While this ability is active, the wielder takes up the same amount of space and may move and attack as normal; his weapons retain their normal size during an attack. The wielder is not considered invisible and may still draw attacks of opportunity. If the wielder takes damage while obscured by the lens, the effect immediately ends and all uses for the day are wasted.

Construction
Requirements Craft Magic Arms and Armor, dimension door, mislead; Cost 12,655 gp

Raw Meat Hook:
Raw Meat Hook
Aura strong enchantment and necromancy CL 15th
Slot none; Price 59,324 gp; Weight 10 lbs.

Description
This +2 wounding ogre hook has several wicked barbs along the side, used for impaling foes. It smells of rancid meat, a stench any ogre wouldn’t mind; this also led to its name, a simple one that most ogres can remember.
You gain the ability to grapple by impaling your target with the hook. The wielder can attempt a combat maneuver check to grapple his opponent as a standard action, provoking attacks of opportunity as normal. Due to the weapon's size, you cannot use it to grapple creatures more than 3 size categories smaller than you. You cannot use this weapon to attack while you are using it to grapple an opponent. While maintaining a grapple with this weapon you may only choose to move or do damage. When dealing damage to your grappled opponent, you use the raw meat hook's weapon damage (including bleed damage) rather than your unarmed strike damage. Each round the raw meat hook remains impaled in the target it deals an additional 1 bleed damage, as if dealt by the wounding ability. You are still considered grappled, though you do not have to be adjacent to the creature to continue the grapple.
You may drop the weapon as a free action, ending the grapple, but the hook remains impaled in the target. Removing the raw meat hook is a full-round action that provokes an attack of opportunity and deals the weapon's damage to the impaled creature. While the grapple is maintained, the impaled creature must succeed on a combat maneuver check (DC equal to the opponent's CMD) in order to remove it.
Construction
Requirements Craft Magic Arms and Armor bleed, hold person; Cost 29,824 gp

Springheart:

Aura weak transmutation, moderate evocation; CL 7th
Slot ring Price 850 gp
Description
Occasionally given as a token of affection by fey creatures, Springheart appears to be a dull green caterpillar tightly curled up in a spiral. When placed into the palm of a hand it uncurls, crawls to a free finger, and encircles it. After a few moments it brightens to a lustrous green and gold color. Springheart provides the wearer with 1 temporary hit point, replenished each morning at dawn. On command it begins a 2 round process - on the first round it uncurls, climbs to the end of a finger, and quickly wraps itself in a cocoon; on the next round it bursts forth as an incorporeal butterfly that departs to carry a message to a specific individual as Sending (but without a chance to fail if the recipient is on another plane.) The cocoon then crumbles to dust and Springheart is destroyed, while the incorporeal butterfly returns to the First World after delivering the message.

If the wearer should die without having used the Sending power, one round afterward Springheart begins the process on its own, taking the sad tidings to the former wearer's dearest loved one.

Blade of Unabating Wounds:
Blade of Unabating Wounds
Aura moderate evocation; CL 10th
Slot none; Price 60,815 gp; Weight 4 lbs.
Description
This +1 keen wounding longsword has a crimson grip and a scarlet crossguard. The exceptionally sharp edge causes the blade to have a noiseless swing, and painlessly deliver its tenacious wounds.

The bleeding wounds caused by this blade’s wounding property are especially difficult to staunch-- a DC 20 Heal check stops the damage, and any attempt to heal a creature suffering from these wounds must succeed on a DC 20 caster level check or the spell does not function. Even creatures with the fast healing or regeneration special quality suffer ill effects from the blade. These creatures’ flesh struggles against the persistent lacerations, and have their fast healing or regeneration reduced by the amount of bleed they currently suffer. When a creature’s fast healing or regeneration is reduced to zero, the ability stops functioning, and excess bleed damage applies normally.

Deadeye's Shepherd:

Deadeye’s Shepherd
Aura moderate transmutation, minor conjuration; CL 9th
Slot none; Price 69,400 gp; Weight 3 lbs.
Description
Naturally curved, thick spiraling ram’s horn forms the limbs of this +2 adaptive composite longbow, creating a recurve and concealing the wheels within the rack. Pictographs of bighorn rams locked in combat are painted along the arrow rest and sight window.

As a full round action, the bow may fire a blunted arrow that performs a Bull Rush maneuver using the archer’s CMB +2 instead of dealing damage. Unless firing while in melee range, this action does not provoke an attack of opportunity; the arrow is otherwise treated as though it was the archer making the combat maneuver.

Once per day the bow can summon a large sized bighorn ram (use the stats of a megaloceros) that willingly serves the archer as though it were a war trained mount. The bighorn ram will remain summoned for 9 hours.
If the wielder has a ring of the ram the ranged bullrush attack deals normal damage and charges can be spent to increase CMB on a Bull Rush by a +1 and deal +1d6 bludgeoning damage when using the deadeye’s shepherd. As a swift action, the wielder may elect to spend a charge from the ring to have the deadeye’s shepherd function as a +2 club of impact for one minute.

Raven Leather:
Raven Leather
Aura moderate transmutation; CL 10th
Slot armor; Price 69,875 gp; Weight 20 lb.
Description
This +2 studded leather armor is made from oiled black leather and has been decorated with numerous feathers and beads of obsidian.

As a standard action the wearer can transform himself into a flock of ravens made out of shadows and spiraling feathers. This effect functions as gaseous form, except the wearer has a flying speed of 40 ft., fills a space of 10 ft. and every creature within this area is considered to have concealment. The wearer can stay in this shape for 10 minutes per day. This duration does not need to be consecutive, but it must be used in 1-minute increments.

Alternatively, the wearer can transform himself into a corporeal raven swarm. The wearer gains a +4 size bonus to Dexterity, a –2 penalty to Strength, fly 40 ft. (average), low-light vision, scent and the swarm traits. The wearer’s swarm attack deals 2d6 points of damage. Each round spent this way counts as 1 minute of the wearer’s normal time. If the wearer’s hit points drop below 0 while in the raven swarm shape, he immediately returns to his normal form, falls unconscious and is dying as normal. This is a polymorph effect.
Construction

One year I took every entry in a round (you could do that in a thread) and had them "fight" based on a series of criteria. I don't expect that at all I was mostly kidding.

Maybe I'll make a thread at one point called item nemesis and have people run their item's against rivals... (for mine you could argue arabest of aurochs or riftcarver bow as being ricals.)

Sightstealer Rapier

The audience chamber's polished marble floors were smooth and cool
to the touch. It was the first thing Dasiel was able to observe as
he fell face first into it; sliding a few feet. “Man, that guy
hits hard!”
he thought to himself.

The gentle and concerned voice of the party's diligent cleric echoed
throughout the room. “Dasiel!? Are you all right?”

Face down on the floor, he mustered the strength to rise to his
feet. “Ania, a 600-pound tiefling just sent me, like, twenty feet
through the air and I damn-near broke my neck. Of course I'm not all
right!”

As her delicate hands began to glow with healing power, Ania dashed
to her friend. “Tede, Palka, cover me; keep fatty occupied!”

The two brothers rushed in at Ania's command as the tiefling bared
down to charge again.

Dasiel was on his feet and was reaching down to pick up his trusty
rapier as he was suddenly calmed by a gentle touch and soothing wave
of comfort. Ania's healing seemed to do just the trick. He smiled to
her, only to see that she was still bearing a look of concern.

“What's the matter?” Dasiel asked her.

“Where are your glasses?”

Feeling his face, Dasiel spoke with sudden distress. “Obviously not
where they should be!”

“You probably lost them when that beast sent you flying—”

The moment was cut short as the shouts of Tede and Palka grew
distant. The tiefling had shaken off the two brothers' distraction
and was preparing to once again charge at Dasiel.

With rapier in hand, the courageous bard stood in front of Ania.
“Nobody messes with my glasses and gets away with it.”

The mighty tiefling sprinted forward; its all-yellow eyes glinting
with bloodlust and its thunderous footsteps drowning out every other
sound.

“Dasiel!” Ania desperately shouted. “Get out of the way!”

Instead of heeding her call, his feet began to dance in place. Then,
with a sudden flourish and a leap into the air, Dasiel thrust his
rapier down into the face of the charging monster, catching it
square in its left eye.

The tiefling howled horribly as its bulging girth was thrown off
balance, sending the creature crashing to the floor. Dasiel balanced
himself atop the falling beast with a hold of his weapon with one
hand and a tiefling horn in the other. Once, he had an opening,
Dasiel pulled his weapon out of the the eye socket and leaped to a
safe distance.

The creature just continued to roar. Except this time, it could only
roll on the floor, covering its face. Tede and Palka, seeing the
opportunity, ended the tiefling's suffering.

The audience chamber fell silent.

Tede approached Dasiel, holding a mangled pair of spectacles. “I
think these are yours...”

Ania groaned. “Oh no...”

Dasiel shook his head. “It's all right, guys. I can get by without
them for a few hours.”

“Dude,” Palka objected, “You're lucky you were able to fight just
now. You're almost blind without these.”

He stamped his foot. “Don't you remember what the number one rule of
traveling with me is?”

Ania chuckled, but still didn't seem convinced. “Trust the bard?”

Dasiel looked her dead in the eye. As he did so, his eyes shifted
with a bright amber light. The next time he blinked, his eyes turned
completely yellow. “Thank you.”

Ania gasped in surprise. “How did...”

Dasiel began to walk ahead as a grin crept onto his face. ”Good
thing those fiends can see in the dark,”
he chortled under his
breath.

Of all the times Sed had accompanied his mischievous elven friend,
this was one instance he felt the two of them were treading the thin
line. The two boys stood in front of an old wooden door in the dimly
lit basement. Sed paused. “Are you sure it's okay for us to be doing
this?”

“Hey,” Elric protested, “my father says I'll make 'a fine warrior'
some day. It won't do me much service if I don't learn about the
tools of the trade, right?”

“But sneaking into his trove while he's away—”
Elric continued his position. “Sometimes warriors have to sneak
around!”

Sed still tried talking sense into his pal. “Shouldn't that be left
to the ninja and the rogues?”

“I don't see what you're so worried about. If we get caught here, my
dad is only gonna whack me. You get off scot-free.”

“My father will find out one way or another. You know our
dad's were old adventuring buddies—”

“Then I'm sure,” said Elric slyly, “You know what I'm looking for in
here.” He wily elf reached for the knob and gave it a turn. The door
opened with no trouble at all. “See?” he boasted, “If my dad didn't
want us in here so badly, he would have locked the door.”

Sed just shrugged. Knowing Elric wasn't going the change his mind,
his curiosity got the better of him and he followed.

A few well-organized shelves held trinkets and treasure from all
around Golarion. Coins from foreign countries, various safely-
sheathed blades, a couple of shields, and a strange looking puzzle
box were just a few of the objects on display.

The main event, however, was on full display on the back wall: a
near-transparent suit of armor that looked like a mix between a
human being and the former exoskeleton of a giant moth. Elric
pointed to the display. “You cannot tell me that that is not
awesome.”

Sed couldn't help but smile, finally conceding that their intrusion
into the treasure room was worth the risk. “Okay, you got me.”

Elric reached forward and grabbed the armor for the upper torso.
“And now we take it for a spin!”

Snapping out of his amazement, Sed spoke short of a holler. “A
spin!? That thing won't even fit you; you're too small.”

Without a word, Elric slid his arm into the left sleeve of the
armor. At that moment, the suit began to morph and twist, contouring
itself to Elric's body. The gleeful boy playfully sneered, “Magic
armor...”

“...fits whoever puts it on.” Sed hummed, remembering his father
having mentioned it before.

Within moments, the armor was fit snugly around the boy's lithe
frame. “And...” the elf boy dramatically paused, “...wings!”

With a jarring crack, the back of the armor split open in a flash of
light. Elric glanced behind him to see a silver-blue wing unrolling
and spreading to his left side. Moments later, the delicate wings of
a swallow-tail butterfly had fully manifested onto the boy's back.

Elric looked to his human comrade, whom seemed unable to speak.
“What do you think?”

Sed turned around and headed for the door. “Let's take it outside.
I've got next!”
.
.
The sight of Sed and Elric together was pretty common around the
village. But this time, all eyes were on the little elven boy doing
cartwheels and loop-de-loops just above the rooftops. “This was
totally worth it!!” Elric called from the sky to his pal.

As Sed looked on in anticipation for his turn, he heard a voice
speak from just behind him. “Ah, seeing that boy up there sure
brings back memories.”

The boy froze, frightened. It was the voice of his father. “Dad!?”

Still focused on the flying elf, the old adventurer reminisced.
“Kalel foisted that old carapace armor off a wicked druid. Say, how
long has he been up there?”

“Um...” Sed tried to recall. “I'm not sure.”

On cue, the onlookers began to shout as the armor's wings
dissipated. Elric began to plummet to the ground in a shrill scream.

Sed's father, reacting quickly, pointed to the falling boy and
snapped his fingers. A burst of gray magic sprinted forward from his
fingertips, enveloping Elric in a gentle light. The elf boy's
descent slowed drastically, allowing him to stand upright. In the
next moment, Elric's feet returned gently to the soil. “If I had a
platinum piece for every time I had to Feather Fall your father,
Elric...”

Still shaken from the scare, Elric quietly began to remove the
armor. “Y...you're not gonna tell my dad when he gets home, will
you?”

“Oh no, no.” he assured the boy. “I'll tell him in ten minutes.”

Elric became even more scared at the thought of his father's
discipline. He quickly gathered the pieces of the carapace and began
a sprint back to his house in an attempt to make it look like he
never took it in the first place.

Sed lightly laughed and looked to his father. “How can you tell him
in ten minutes?”

“Well, son,” the delighted father replied, removing his spellbook
from his robe. “Feather Fall is just one fun trick old wizards like
your dad can pull off...” He opened to one page in his book and
handed it to his son.

Sed needed to only glance at the header of the page: “Sending”.

For the record, these are all drabbles with minimal editing.

Still working on the Hurlbat/Dancing Chain/Ragethiel's Regalia.

I'll have it up either later today or tomorrow. I can't work on it while I'm on the clock at work.

Rod of the Iron Rose

Spoiler:
Rod of the Iron Rose
Aura
Strong transmutation; CL 13th
Slot None; Price 50,000 gp; Weight 10 lbs.

Description
This black rod is capped by an iron rose. It acts as a +1 fey bane cold iron light mace and grants a +2 insight bonus to perception checks against fey creatures. Its other powers are as follows:
Iron Gardens: As a standard action, the wielder can cause iron objects to grow plantlike protrusions: branches, leaves, spikes, and flowers. Thorns and spikes created this way deal 1d4 points of damage when touched. Objects cannot be rendered nonfunctional with this power, nor can their size or general shape be changed. The changes last 24 hours.
Transmute Plants to Iron: Once per day as a full round action, the wielder can permanently turn all living plants within a 40 ft radius to iron. The transmuted plants are subject to rust, perforation, and other natural phenomena that would affect iron. Iron created by this ability is not suitable for use in the creation of other objects and cannot be sold. The effect can be reversed by transmute metal to wood. Plant creatures must make a DC 20 Fortitude or turn into mindless, inert iron statues.
Iron Entanglement: Once per day as a standard action, the wielder can cause iron objects to entangle creatures in a 40 ft radius, similar to the entangle[/b] spell. Creatures that fail a DC 15 Reflex save are entangled; success means they can move as normal, but must make another save at the end of the wielder’s turn. Creatures that enter the area must save or become entangled. The effect lasts for 1 minute.

Here's an update: due to the snowstorm here in Jersey, my work is cancelled. So I will not be able to post the next stories until Wednesday. Sorry to keep you all in suspense.

At least this gives me all sorts of time to write tomorrow. I might be able to get everyone's items in.

Hurlbat, Regalia, Dancing Chain

"This same guy again!?" Aldo exhaustively exclaimed, glancing at the
wanted poster his superior presented him.

"Afraid so," the decorated general confirmed. "Except something is
different this time."

"What's that?" he wondered.

The general presented the dire news. "Cackle is on his rampage
through the south side of town right now...and calling you
out. By name, no less. Unfortunately, you're going to need to go
this one alone. You know how that madman operates."

"Yeah, he'll run away at the sight of reinforcements." Aldo slowly
lowered his hands, setting the wanted poster into his lap. His grip
tightened, causing his left thumb to poke through the paper. He
glanced to his superior's deep green eyes and made a request. "Does
this mean I should take..."

Knowing where Aldo was going to ask, the commanding officer nodded
and interrupted, "Absolutely. Take one of the special full plates
with you. And may it, and the blessings of Ragathiel, protect you.
Take that psycho down."

--------------------

A scrawny, nimble gnome sporting festive, colorful garb and skull-
themed facepaint sauntered through the town square. A confident
swagger dominated his stride and the chuckles brewing in his throat
gave an unsettling echo through the otherwise silent streets. The
usual bustle of the town had come to a halt with the presence of
this wanted criminal, known only to the population as "Cackle".

Cackle's feet soflty tapped on the cobblestone street. "I still
don't see Aldo..." The tempo of his shuffling increased. "...and
it's been another five minutes!" He snapped his wrist, and a scroll
popped out. The wicked bard gibbered the incantation on the page,
and his feet began to glow.

Onlookers scattered in all directions as the madman put the scroll
away. He then flourished into a cartwheel and shouted. "I guess that
means another building goes BYE-BYE!!" His cartwheels finished with
a powerful handspring that sent Cackle soaring through the air. He
landed hard on his feet in front of a small tavern, and the magic
stored within them ejected into a thundering quake. People skittered
in all directions as the pub came apart and folded in on itself.

As he reveled in another example of the destruction he had been
causing, Cackle caught a glint just out of the corner of his eye.
There was what looked like a ball of flame closing in on his
position. He stood, unflinching, allowing the shimmer to get closer.
In the next moment, his right hand began to pulse with vile magic;
his fingers rigidly clawing the air.

After a few more seconds, Cackle could clearly see the face of his
adversary, Aldo, through the flames that streaked ever closer to
him. "That's right, ya' little bastard...fly to me."

Aldo could clearly see his target: the gnome that had been
terrorizing the city he called home. He could taste the sweet,
impending payback for the devastation and fear that the troublesome
bard had caused. Aldo drew his sword and flew full-speed toward the
villain with help from his borrowed armor's flaming wings.

The Paladin officer was almost on target with his courageous charge
as Cackle raked the air in front of him with his magic-imbued hand.
Suddenly, color and light became distorted, and Aldo lost sight of
his enemy. Even worse, he was too slow to react to the sudden
change; flying straight through the sheet of wobbling colors.

Aldo's vision spun wildly, and his stomach conched. His sword
slipped from his grip and he fell at Cackle's feet, barely able to
resist to the urge to vomit.

The villainous gnome performed a few backflips to gain distance
between himself and his adversary. "Aldo!" he hollered, "Glad you
decided to show."

After a deep breath and a calm burp, Aldo grasped his sword and
stood straight. "From the sound of it, it didn't seem like I had
much of a choice."

"Oh, you had a choice," Cackle taunted, "You had the choice to run
for your life!"

"And let you continue trashing my home?"

Producing a bat from its holster, Cackle continued. "Come on, Aldo.
Anyone can agree that this city need a new leader and a fresh coat
of paint. I know it. You know it. That damn general-or-whatever you
answer to know it! The powers that be in his city is in complacent
denial!" As he pontificated further, he began to throw his weapon
between his two hands, occasionally tossing it into the air.

Aldo cut him off. "You have no right to say what this city does and
does not need. That's not your job, and you certainly aren't going
about sending this message the right way."

"Silly Aldo," Cackle snickered, "this isn't about words anymore;
it's about action." All of a sudden, it appeared as if another bat
had appeared in Cackle's hands.

Aldo had to do a double-take as he readied his blade. In the time
Cackle was giving his speech, the Paladin was able to detect the
auras emanating around the chain shirt the clown was wearing, as
well as that of the bat the criminal was wielding. He knew it wasn't
going to be easy to take down this maniac.

A third bat appeared in the juggling hands of the deranged harlequin
as he appeared to grow a second head; then a third. Three legs
emerged from Cackle's torso, followed by four extra arms. Aldo's
view was soon bombarded with the sight of four wicked clowns, all
juggling their bats.

Aldo's grip on his sword tightened as he was unable to discern where
to start in engaging this wild criminal.

My sincerest apologies for the slow-go at this. I am immersing myself into this a little more than I thought I would be. That, and I got in trouble at work for posting on the Paizo forums too much during work.

I will have the stories up as soon as I can get them up. I do hope and pray you all find them worth the wait.

Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.

I was wondering where you went. I certainly understand how life can get in the way!

I look forward to reading more of your story whenever you have the time to post it.
No rush. :)

Update:

I'll be posting the whole shi-bang on Monday or Tuesday. At this point, I've managed to get everyone's item into a story. Except I'm still working on the Springheart one.

They're easing up on me about posting while at work. They were okay with it while Round 1 was still going on. But since I didn't make it to round two, they've been a little stern about my internet usage at work.

Once again, I really really appreciate everyone's patience. Life hasn't exactly been easy these past couple of weeks. A lot of coping and personal stuff. But I haven't forgotten you guys. ^.^

Hopefully I can post a little more often now that the boss has eased up a bit.
