so i plan on having a hunter with a snake(constrictor)animal companion, and was wondering how the constrict ability works with greater grapple?
hunter would take eye for talent so he would be able to have the snake at int 3 starting out.
planing for for 10 th level
feats for the snake would be power attack ,IUS, improved grapple , and greater grapple .
snakes str would be 38.
23 nat ,+ 4 animal focus, +3 animal companion level bonus , + 8 animal growth.
i would do bite 1d6 +30 ( 21 str , 9 powerattack), then make a grapple and if i grapple i do 1d6 +23 ( 14 str , 9 power attack ).
then next round i could make 2 grapple checks doing bite and constrict dmg on both of them?

I'm likewise skeptical of power attacks applicability on a combat manuver check. The grapple typically does the same damage as the bite, so that should be at +21 (1.5x str) to damage as well. Otherwise the math looks right
The snake can attempt to
grapple to deal damage or attempt to grapple to pin twice in any combination in a round. get something completely helpless THEN eat it should be pretty natural for a constrictor snake.
Ideally with the creature standing next to it it should go
R 1: Bite , bite hits, attempt to grapple, grapple succeeds constrict, grapple to pin, pin succeeds constrict
R 2: Bite + Constrict, Bite + Constrict
I wouldn't play this if there's another grappler in your group, it will make them look bad :).
Minor point: You can't take power attack at level 1 because Mr Slinky doesn't have a BAB of +1 at that level. Improved unarmed strike doesn't have any requirements though.
Get a wand of mage armor, Mr Slinky will be the target of a lot of attacks.
