I GM online for a group, and I'd say a consistent number of its members can fit into something of a neutral murderhobo.
They'll take loot from anything, show slightly more restraint in the department of killing things unless another force is compelling them to with the prospect of a fight. They don't have problems with ignoring abuses of others or with going against legal authorities if they're in the way.
While I've purchased and read through the Rise of the Runelords Anniversary Edition and loved it, I'm aware that the central need for the characters to care about protecting the town might be legitimately difficult given their dispositions. I'd like to end up purchasing another Adventure Path that I can take them through at a much later date.
So here's the question as it stands: Which adventure paths do you think are best for murderhobos?

Wrath of the righteous is pretty much free reign to kill everything. I haven't run more than the first book, but from what I've read on the boards you may want to rethink including Mythic in it. While it does assume the players are good guys, you can make it so that they are neutral and offer them monetary/power incentives to get the job done instead.
Shattered star is pretty much a dungeon crawl set of modules. They tend to be good for just kill everything ask later types as well.
Most of the others I've read have more of an investigation/interaction/moral quandary feel to them so may not fit your group.
I haven't read skull and shackles but it sounds like a pirate themed game where you get to be pirates. It might work too, but you'd need more concrete advice from someone who's run that one.

Skull & Shackles!
also reign of winter might work and Mummy's mask
About Skull and Shackles, the players eventually captain their own ship, how well would you say it blends with using Ultimate Campaign rules for say, creating a personal port/organization/island paradise retreat for the PCs to enjoy and lord over? I understand it is a little more sand-boxy.

In book 2 you get a pirate keep (in addition to your ship) in book 4 your own island to do whatever you want with (after its settled of course:-p) so yeah, Ultimate Campaign should work just fine:) i have the original kingmaker rules so i'm gonna use those (we are in book 3 with one party, book 2 with the other (all animal races, we call it Animal Farm on the Fever Sea its pretty hilarious:-p)
have i mentioned that Skull & Shackles is my favorite AP:-)
and yes its fairly sand-boxey, book 2 is essentially a giant sand-box, book one is crazy hard, lots of people will die, it can be kinda long at times, but is also super awesome classic Richard Pett.

Kingmaker also works for murder hobos, as you can have a neutral kingdom based on the rule of the strongest. However, it slays PCs right and left if they aren't careful. Trolls and shambling mounds on a 1st through 4th level random encounter table is scary... Also, the tables generate a lot of wolves for some reason.
