Orisons works like cantrips and physical attacks: more keywords matched between action and weapon means more base damage and more effect power. Ranking up an action without improving your focus is like improving your focus without ranking up your action: both need to have the same keywords to get the benefit.
For the damaging orisons, you should see an obvious benefit in the form of more damage as you improve your rank and focus. For the buffing ones, generally the duration of the buff will improve by 10% of the base duration every time you match a new keyword (relative to the Effect Protection of the target). A few things, like healing, aren't yet hooked into effect power, so unfortunately ranking up Minor Cure doesn't do anything yet.
The three types of orisons for the three types of foci should have three different colors in their icon background (I don't remember what they are off the top of my head). So if you have a Battle focus and pick one of the orisons off the top of Ryan's list above (that all get the Battle keyword), you can easily find the others by matching the color of its background.

When you find out, can you please let Dayzk know so he can add it to his reference doc along with the combat and terrain symbols? :)

A little transparency should be added for spells. While this understanding is present for the Osirons and cantrips. I do not find "official" information about spells until after XP is spent and then one learns if there is significant overlap between domain and the spell, or even what the spell does or stamina/power used. I expect Nihimon will collect this and post it so it will not be issue for future players.
If this could be published, then

Seems I need to set up account with google and agree to tracking to access that data. But thank you for the link. Others may find it of issue.
I really do appreciate the work that has been done in pulling these things together. Right now I have issues with tracking that may go away. I do appreciate what you have done.

Basically battle focuses are like wands and staffs. After the basic +0 ones where all spells work equally well on any type of focus, the orison must be matched to the right type of focus (battle/elemental/occult) to get optimal effect.
It's pretty straightforward, once you get above +0 focuses, the second keyword in the orion is the type of focus you need to use with it.
Also +1 focuses need Orisons trained to 2. +2 focuses need orisons trained to 3.
