From a larger perspective, I think this is just the opposite.
I'm glad that it's not remarkable that charitable people exist, to the point that you can't handle the flood of donations, and I'd not wish it the other way.
Similarly, I wish stories about recovery from terminal disease weren't remarkable (and to be honest, the docs have been very good at making that true, disease by disease).
