I'd say no - there are 0% spell failure armour options AND Mage Armour lasts one hour/level, it also stacks with shield and loads of other stuff.
The issues most A.T.'s haves are poor Fort Saves and BAB (hence my 2nd A.T. being a half-orc ray specialist) but one of the strengths is that with a little thought you ARE a viable caster on a rogue chassis. Both of mine have survived otherwise T.P.K.'s and still contributed to the party in some pretty tough positions. I know some people don't rate this class, but I think it is pure gold once you qualify.
