I have some questions about the mithral of non-metal weaponry.

1. Just what color IS darkwood anyway? When I first read about it I imagined a smooth, almost black look, like real-world ebony. Reflecting back on that, though, I find it kinda cliché to immediately assume that. Is it maybe a dark brown like mahogany? Is there any official word from the developers on what it looks like besides the obvious (it's dark-colored)?

2. Where on Golarion do darkwood trees grow? How rare are they? Who are its primary harvesters?

1. Dark. Not black, not brown, actually dark. It is notable for literally being a shade rather than a color. Happens to spook huskies though, so be careful.

2. From Darkwoodia. There's only enough darkwood to meet the needs of about six adventurers at any single time. Darkwood is primarily harvested by Woodchuckfolk, a people believed to be distant offshoots of ratfolk. Their nation of Darkwoodia however is under brutal assault by the Beaverfolk.

On Golarion, Darkwood isn't really stated as having a specific climate it is unique to, however the largest concentration of it that's been published seems to be in Andoran. Darkwood Vale is a region who's economy seems to be primarily dependent on harvesting Darkwood, so it's not terribly rare in that region.

PathfinderWiki has some information on the geography of darkwood.

It doesn't specify the color. However, in Forgotten Realms, my favorite campaign setting, darkwood comes from zalantar trees which is a pure black wood. I'd assume the wood would be similar in Golarion.
