Mouth - A New Rogue Trick

Homebrew and House Rules

Mouth: You can store and conceal objects in your mouth without risk of harming yourself or damaging the objects. You can store/conceal a number of pounds worth of objects equal to you Con Bonus. While using this ability, you are unable to speak.

There could be a mechanic to speak using Bluff (or wotnot).

I figure you can hold a whole lot more weight than that once you can fit a Bag of Holding in there. Get to Con 30 and you suddenly have an effective Con of 510 for this ability. I think I now know how to represent Kirby in Pathfinder lol.

On a related note, is there a way to get up to 70 Con yet? I'd love to be able to stuff the party halfling down my throat without swallow whole :)

I mean I like the ability, even if it is a little out there, but it does have weird implications, especially if you start adding in weightless items. Mayhaps storing a number of items up to your Con bonus weighing no more than a pound each could be a better way to go about that. I second a bluff check to sense something's up with your talking. You can fit a couple marshmallows into your mouth before your "fluffy bunnies" start to sound a little suspicious.

I thought fluffy bunnies was just a thing where I grew up, and I'm really glad this talent wasn't titled keister.

I somewhat agree. Good suggestion, johnnythexxxiv.

I've been watching The Goonies movie constantly the last few days. There is this part where a character called "Mouth" is able to store a ton of treasure in his mouth. Seemed like a rogue trick to me, since the character is a bit of a con man.

Unless you happen to live in small town British Columbia, I think it might just be a semi-popular thing.

Instead of making it a weight limit, I would just say a number of Diminutive or smaller items equal to your CON mod-- that way we don't have 24 CON barbarians dipping rogue so they can be hiding longswords down their throats or whatever.

Maybe the objects have to be N sizes smaller than you, if you think halflings ought to have less room in their mouths than humans.

I'd also wonder how this is different than just using Sleight of Hand to hide objects. Is it automatic, no check allowed? Does it grant a bonus to your SoH check? Does it allow you to make checks under circumstances you otherwise couldn't?

I'm happy to see the idea has taken root. Thank you all. I hope you have fun with it!

In all seriousness, this. It seems like this Rogue Talent would just be another Rumormonger; that is, swiping away an ability that the Rogue should already be able to do with a skill and covering it under an ability you have to pay for.
