Ice Devil's summon ability - need help fast [RotR spoilers]

My players are in the Heptaric Locus in Xin Shalast, and are likely gonna encounter Gamigin(The Ice Devil Sorcerer). Gamigin's tactics involve summoning 2d4 Bone Devils, but an Ice Devil's summoning ability reads:

1/day—Summon (level 4, 2 bone devils, 50%)

Can someone please tell me if an Ice Devil -can- summon 2d4 bone devils, and if not, if I should let Gamigin summon 2d4 BDs or 2.

Normally, no an Ice Devil can not summon 2d4 Bone Devils.

However, if that is what the RotR says Gamigin can do, he must be special and can summon 4 times the Bone Devils other Ice Devils can.

The Ice Devil statics in the bestiary are for a normal generic Ice Devil. If Gamigin has a different value listed in tactics, then it means he is a stronger specimen of devil and has unique stats. Follow what is in the tactics block.

Okay I'll do that. The information is a bit conflicting, because his summon ability reads the same as normal ice devils, but his tactics block reads 2d4.

His ability says 2, but tactics says 2d4? (I do not have the book to look myself)

I would go with whichever is more appealing for the party. If they have been having a cake walk, do 2d4, if they have been pushed to the edge of TPK more then once, maybe just 2.

He has is not mentioned as some variant so I think he is supposed to be limited to 2.

You can always check either the thread for the book itself, or the errata thread. Both exist to prevent new threads like this.

When I ran it, I checked those threads, found nothing about it, and ran it as just 2, assuming it was a typo. It was still a fairly nasty fight for my group. I personally love Dafydd's suggestion -- choose whichever you think your players would enjoy more.

EDIT: In fact, I posted it, and didn't get a response there. So maybe you ARE in the right place...
