Just now, trying to load PFO I get that message.
Actually in Italian it say:
"impossibile risolvere il nome remoto cdn.goblinworks.com"
Any idea of what it mean?

Cdn.goblinwotks.com is the fqdn for the content delivery network (cdn) that we use to distribute the patches. It is not our system, it is a 3rd party but the dns entry is ours. For some reason your system is inable to resolve that fqdn. That is likely due to an upstream misconfguration of someone's router, or someone's dns server.

We have been using it for a long time. A failure to work suggests something has recently changed somewhere between you and the cdn.

fqdn = fully qualified domain name

Is the patcher localized to Italian?

It is the standard PFO patcher. Now it say "Unable to resolve the remote name goblinworks.com". Beside today windows patch I don't know of any change.

And updating to the new version of my antivirus, but I have played after that.

Ryan is correct - this is almost certainly not a service side issue. DNS issues that don't stem from a configuration issue tend to be transient - it should resolve itself given time, if nothing else.

Still annoying like hell.
If it was a problem with the patch GW would be working trying to fix it.
If it is a problem with someone server I can only hope it get resolved.

I am downloading the latest version of the installer, maybe that will resolve the problem.

You could always try to change you DNS address manually. You'll need to navigate to your internet adapters properties and from there to Internet Protocol 4 settings.

Then set your DNS address fields to:
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4

Those are public DNSs provided by google, and I was able to connect using those.

I was able to log in after downloading the latest version of the installer, but there are problems with the connection.
I have run a trace 10 hours ago to the Paizo and Goblinworks IP addresses. While the European steps stay within the 30 or 31 milliseconds, the US steps of the route are all above 100 milliseconds, with the last 3 sections topping out at 179 milliseconds for each step.
So maybe it is connected with the bad weather in the US west coast.
There is a message from Paizo on the forum top about that.

Our actual game server is in a different facility than Paizo's servers and should not be affected by any weather issues. The CDN servers are scattered all around the world (that's what they do - they distribute the load of moving huge files closer to end users instead of making all the traffic go to a central site) so the CDN should not be affected by anything either.

The connection is still pretty bad, but that isn't a surprise. for some reason all the Internet connections I have used in the last days were unusually slow and prone to packet loss. Same think for my friends.
It seem worse when contacting a site in the US, but even connections to EU sites are unusually slow.
