Not Recovering Power?

Not sure how it's supposed to work, but I don't think I'm recovering any. Used most of it yesterday, a little more today, and nothing appears to be coming back.

It only recovers when you are online, at a rate of about 5% every 12ish minutes. Just leave your character logged in when you go to bed, and when you log in again the next day, full power bar.

Seems to recover faster in a settlement but that might be my imagination.

Also having a higher max power helps.

Do power even regerate at all outside Settlements? Last time I used it I had to get back to a settlement to see any significant recovery.

Goblin Squad Member

I tested this a few weeks ago, power does not seem to regenerate at all outside of a settlement. Inside a settlement it recovers at the rate already stated though only while being logged in.

I seem to remember some text or other having indicated that you would need campfires or actual camps (or those fancy player structures they are selling), to regenerate power in the wilderness. But then, my memory isn't always the best reference for actual facts.

Plopmania, your memory is working spotlessly!

There was also some talk about the taverns in the wilderness eventually restoring power.

Ah yes, the taverns. I am hoping the taverns would get world placements somewhat early on, if only to break the (currently) rather monotonous landscape :)

Anyways, I actually have a question: how can I see my power level? I tried to look around, but that yielded no results.

There is at least 1 tavern outside the cities. It is in the copper mountains (the mountains south of Thornkeep) along the road entering them from the north.

From what I have heard there is at least another tavern somewhere. Plus at least one player has brought one.

Plopmania, after they are implemented the different camps and smallholding will be the way in which you recover power in the field. Currently we have the slow regeneration, but I haven't tested if it happen only in settlements. My impression is that you get something back even outside them, but maybe at a slower rate (or using the power stop you from regenerating for a length of time).
From what I recall I have recovered some power leaving my character hidden in a forest while I was doing some house core, but I am not 100% sure as I hadn't used any system to measure the exact power available before and after doing that.

I have discovered two taverns so far but I don't know if they offer Power regen yet.

Goblin Squad Member

There was a mention several patches ago that they wasn't working yet, and I guess it still is the case.

There is a tavern on the plains in the SW of the map.

Power regen should be 5% of max every 12 minutes and your location shouldn't matter. The regen should happen on what's essentially a 12 minute tick (i.e., you shouldn't get back a tiny trickle constantly, you should see a noticeable 5% increase and then another one 12 minutes later).

Eventually we'll have tech to provide Power at camps, PoIs, and settlements, and once that's working we'll remove the over time regen.

The only way I have figured out how to check my power is to cast a buffing cantrip (spell that is non expendable) on myself so my power, hp, etc bars show up. I am sure there is a better way?

To my knowledge, there is not a "better" way.

I use evade. It might surprise the other people in the queue for the bank when I suddenly leap back 20ft and start waving my sword around a bit though.

But what an awesome surprise.

I used some Power last night, then left Nihimon logged in overnight in a wilderness hex. I forgot to check this morning, but I should be able to find out in a couple of hours whether or not he regained any Power.

If we use power during those 12 minutes, the clock restart from 0?

I have got the impression that if I use power it will not regenerate until I don't use it for a long period.

Couldn't post last night, but when I logged Nihimon back in, he was at full power. This verifies that you do regain Power outside of Settlements.

This is a very good question, and deserves some testing. I'll see if I can get some data tonight.
