Question #1
Do the Soulbolt's attacks go off Str or Dex? I know it is a range attack and it would usually go off Dex, but later in the section of the Soulbolt (where it explains the feats that work) it says you can use Weapon Finesse with the Soulbolt attacks. After I saw that Weapon Finesse can be used, it made me starting to think originally attacks would be Str based, since Weapon Finesse would be useless otherwise.
Question #2
Are Soulbolt attacks considered a thrown weapon? Not sure the importance of this question, but never know it might come up at one point or another. I Would want to be prepared if it does.
Question #3
Does the feat Far Shot work with attacks? If it doesn't work could you explain why? I would assume Far Shot would work, just because this is considered a ranged attack.
Question #4
Are Soulbolts good for being the ranger in the party? The party I'm playing in right now has a lack of range, so looking for a dedicated ranger. I don't find the ranger class to be that fun, so looking for a different alternative.

From Ultimate Psionics:
A soulbolt adds his Strength modifier to damage rolls when using the mind bolt in the short range form.
In the medium and long range forms, he uses his dex as the ability modifier to attack.
Short range form are essentially thrown weapons, medium and long range are "shot" projectiles.
All ranged attack feats (like far shot) work with the mind bolt.
Soulbolts are good for the ranged attack role in the party. They also work well with the various snapshot feat chain for second line damage dealers with attacks of opportunity as enemies close for melee.
