I have a pfs specific question regarding the cavaliers mount. A small character can pick a pony or a wolf at first level but once he reaches fourth he can choose a dog or a boar. My question is how would you change over to a different mount assuming the mount is still alive. I apologize if I posted this in the wrong area this is my first post on forums

Make a note you get a new mount on your chronicle sheet or inventory tracking sheet, get GM to sign off on the change. Should be the same process as if the mount dies and you get a new one. Then you gotta train the new mount on handle animal tricks, roll in front of GM for the handle animal checks or have a high enough modifier that you can auto-pass by taking 10, have GM sign off on it.

Can you tell me what tricks your new companion starts with other than combat riding

It only starts with the bonus tricks based off of its level. You have to teach it everything else. Only at lvl 1 when you first get it do you get all of its tricks for free. Any replacement mount only knows what tricks it gets from its progression and any bonus tricks it knows via your PC's class abilities and the rest (as in every trick available via int (3 x int score)) must be taught.
