So they're going through an adventure assaulting a Fire giant castle. They've killed a few and they looted the bodies aaaand... everything is giant sized? Their #1 longswords are the size of great swords and even then you're at a -2 because its not sized to you.
So my question is this: does the giant gear count as their reward for the adventure? I doubt they could effectively sell it in town. Last I checked most merchants don't go off into the wilderness to sell gear to ogres and trolls. Should the gear magically re-size to fit the pcs for simplicity sake? Should I tell them to leave it and leave appropriate reward gear within?

Well, there are ways to magically resize things, for a price. Iron Lord's Transforming Slivers do exactly that- cover it in the metal filings, put it on a forge for a night, and next morning it will have changed 1 size category closer to the size of the person that put the filings on.
It seems to be a magic item associated with Gorum (well, nothing seems to stop other people from making it, just that Gorum followers tend to like fighting tough things like giants, yet still getting loot), so going to a Gorum temple would probably be a good place to buy the stuff.
Costs 1,000 gp per pop though. 500 if they make it themselves. Are the swords good enough to spend that kind of money? If not...yeah, you should either look for cheaper methods, or not count them as loot for anything other than scrap metal/cool trophy sold to a noble with too much time and money.
