Tetori in RotRL

Advice

Can a Tetori monk survive and contribute in this campaign?

I was contemplating either a dwarf (I've heard its the best for RotRL) or a skinwalker. The thing I like about the skinwalker idea is that when grappling isnt an option I can bust out some natural attacks and stay competitive with the other meleers.

Its a 20 pointbuy and with 4 other characters although I don't know what the others are playing.

Well book 1-2 will be fine.

Book 3

Spoiler:
you start running into ogres and the occasional giant.

Book 4

Spoiler:
you will be fighting a lot of giants and 3 dragons.

Book 5-

Spoiler:
If you can get to them you will be ok in this book. You fight a bad ass dragon and a few constructs with a massive strength.

Book 6-

Spoiler:
A good majority of your enemies will be giant sized. Their will be a hand full of encounters that are ok.

Basically your going to be effective 35% of the time. So I would focus on making them dead as fast as possible.

Giantsized means Huge?

Also, please try not to give too many spoilers, I've never run the campaign.

Would I be in better shape with Enlarge Person (permanency)

Would this work for a dwarf?

Permancy enlarge deffinatly a way to go in this campaign for books 3+.

But you will also fight some gargantuan sized giants. Like enlarge us good for that +2 str and size increase bonuses. But I feel not targeting fortitude and fighting str vs str is the proper way to go.

Steel soul + glory of old, and big game hunter are solid traits and feats.

I wouldn't build a combat maneuver specialist for this campaign. Bows will do nicely against most in this campaign. Switch hitting is very viable on a slayer or ranger. Of course if you like monk there is the Zen archer which would out perform most martial builds.

When you get to about level 10 the monsters in the game become really difficult to affect with combat maneuvers. It is not advisable.
