epic levels

Homebrew and House Rules

I am disappointed with Paizo, because they are already with the pathfinder a long time and have not given support for the epic levels, hence comes a question when the book launch for epic levels?

I've been waiting as well thiago - word on the street is that it won't be coming, with Mythic rules in its place.

Sovereign Court

So far according to their lineups, not even a hint of it. But well the scale of power is different in pathfinder tho...I mean CR 30 demigods that you can fight with your mythic tiers(Demon Lords, Great Old Ones, Archfiends...) having a wild guess that the gods are CR 35+ mostly due to Wrath of the righteous having one making a cameo.

Question mostly is...what do you want to fight at epic levels? Beside fighting gods, there is nothing to fight in pathfinder scaling of power.

Mythic tiers don't count as epic levels? I know that they can occur concurrently with class levels but If you really want to play epic levels, why not go to lvl 20 and then start taking mythic tiers?

Pretty much what everyone has already said. Mythic is the only "epic" thing Paizo plans on doing. They have no intent on advancing class progression past 20th, as several devs have already stated.

If you want to do something epic-like, Malwing's idea is your best bet. Get to 20th, then take a Mythic tier each time you would otherwise level up.

You can do mythic tiers. You can gestalt. You can start gaining templates. The system supports the 3.5 epic level content I believe. Hell, DIVINE RANKS are an option too. You don't need Paizo to do more with the 3.5 epic content. Mythic content is more interesting anyways.

Why's this in the homebrew section?

I have nothing against people who want to enjoy epic levels, but I'm very happy with the way Paizo has handled it with mythic rules. I'm also not keen on true gods getting statted. I like having my gods remain gods. If people want to run campaigns where players become true gods and interact with other true gods, I don't think merely extending the character level cap would do it justice. Such a campaign would likely require a completely different rule set to support divine and extraplanar politics. Ones that involve establishing your religion, advanced social encounters with divine beings, influencing mortals, shaping entire civilizations and worlds. This is not something that suits the basic D&D/PF rule set, which is built more for adventuring and combat.

Uncertain why this is in the homebrew area as it seems to be a somewhat common question regarding Paizo publishing plans.

Desire for 21+ level play support =/= stats for gods / becoming gods. Those would be ascendance / immortal rules. If you think that a 28th level rogue is the equivalent of a god, then I'm not sure what to tell you.

To answer the OP, though (and join in the chorus), thus far Paizo has stated that they currently have no plans to support epic (post 20th) and have instead given us "Mythic" (a template that can be added to characters levels 1 through 20). Quote from James Jacobs on this when I asked him on his thread about it here.

Responding to comments: said this, because I have two stops campaigns one lvl 36 and or lvl 55, that those who have since AD & D and was adjusting over time, but recentimente personnel lvl 36 campaign began to contemplate the return of the same, and as the last day of the campaign was determined that we would start with a new pahtfinder until they were released to the media and the epic RPG as we all know, at least in my view, is an infinite game.
Otherwise, based on the book made it clear that there would be epic levels, both the progress that has as base classes, but now I find it very difficult to be able to get at least lvl 30 with current support.
I posted this topic because your title says you can also give suggestions, so I thought more appropriate, but if you're wrong I wonder what the correct topic.

PS: sorry for any serious typing error, but my English is not very good.

The game doesn't even work well in the first 20 levels as it is. Adding on epic levels only break it even more.

You can always do the conversion yourself. The majority of the Dungeons and Dragons epic rules are Open Content, and can be found for free online.

Where?

You can still use the existing 3.5 Epic rules to run your campaign.

I think he means the Core Rulebook, page 406. It talks about playing after 20th level, and says Paizo may eventually publish its own rulebook for epic levels.

Ah. "May" is different from "Will".
