I am running a undead heavy mythic campaign and one of my players intends to go the legendary item route. He is playing a Goblin Ranger focused in melee and he uses a scythe. So for backstory on the Goblin his village was massacred by Kobolds and now he is out to destroy them all. The Goblin can be controlled around Kobolds but only in very certain settings. He is also a very impulsive character. He has a flaw that that will cause him to race ahead of the party, charge the boss, use other PC to jump off of and launch into melee (this one seems to be his favorite) basically its a flaw that causes the random impulsive behavior.
So impulsive, Kobold and now undead hating, antisocial Goblin is going to get at least a minor artifact maybe a major one if we get to Tier 6. He wants is to be his scythe. What I need help with is the very specific way to destroy the artifact. This is something I have no experience in.

Very simple, you just link it to him. Heh could be as simple as, as an undead using his scythe to behead him. Now if you took the ability that he is the only one who can use it, (which is quite common), just have him kill himself with the scythe destroy the scythe and just let the enemy figure out how they are going to make it work.
The two routes that come to mind for me are general to a powerful artifact, or specific to this goblin who hates Kobolds and Undead.
General: An outsider of alignment X with an effective caster level of (double Goblin's Mythic Tier or higher) must concentrate on the Scythe for (1 hour per Mythic Tier) with the scythe in hand, and then smash it on the ground within a Magic Circle Against X.
Specific: An Undead Kobold with (double Goblin's Mythic Tier or higher) HD must succeed at a Sunder attempt (treat the Scythe as Adamantine or better) to give the Scythe the broken condition. If the Scythe is then wielded by an Undead Kobold and used to kill a Goblin with (double Goblin's Mythic Tier or higher) HD, the Scythe shatters.
That is an interesting idea and the look on his face if an undead gets it and kills him with it only for the blade to fade away would be priceless. Though he is very paranoid about his things so getting it would be hard if that is a route I go.
