Question about Prestige Vanities

Pathfinder Society

The Exchange 3/5

Tonight I finished the Pathfinder Society Scenario #5-21: Merchant's Wake.

In it, if a person was with the Qadira Faction (which I was before it shifted to Exchange) it gives them the Kelishite Patron boon, which allows for the purchase of the Trade Prince or Trade Princess title boon for only the Prestige Point cost as it waves the Fame requirement.

Likewise, there is a vanity that you can purchase which is titled Noble Title and costs 20 Fame and 1 Prestige Point.

Noble Title (20 Fame, 1 PP) You gain one of the following noble titles: baron, baroness, dame, earl, lord, marquis, marquise, visbaronet, visbaronetess, viscount, and viscountess. You become specialized in Knowledge (nobility).

My question here is can they stack?

For instance could my character become known as Trade Prince Lord Velarrio Ileor the Faceless?

Or would I be forced to choose between either the Trade Prince title or the Noble Title?

It's not really an issue because Trade Prince is Qadira (Exchange) and Noble Title is Taldor (Sovereign).

Since you can't be a member of both factions, stacking isn't an issue.

Now, in the outlier case of "I was Qadira" (and got Trade Prince) but I switched to "Sovereign" (with access to Noble Title) then yes, you could have a nice string of titles.

In theory, you could have been Aldoran, taken Captain and Knight, switched in an earlier season to Qadira, taken Trade Prince, and switched recently to S.S. and taken a Noble Title, and be Knight Captain and Trade Prince Lord Velarrio the Faceless, Viscount so-and-so.

The Exchange 3/5

Okay, thank you for clarifying. For some reason the source I was using (a third party information forum) wasn't making it a distinction that the Noble Title was for the Taldor faction and made it appear as though it could be purchased as a vanity by itself.

Thank you for the help.

Is there a list somewhere, that spells out the vanities? I'd dearly love the noble title one for my Taldoran swashbuckler, but can't seem to find anything official on them...

It's in the Pathinder Society Field Guide.

As far as I know only the Pathfinder Society Field Guide and the Pathfinder Society Primer have vanities in them.

The Primer only has followers, businesses, buildings and wayfinder upgrades if I recall correctly, while the Society Field Guide has these and a few vanities for the old faction/lodges.

You can get both by switching factions, but specialized is like "class skill", I don't think it stacks.

Lantern Lodge 3/5

If you had a Lantern Lodge character, who changed to another faction, say taldor, then make use of this season's free faction change... you can easily end up with A LOT of titles... :)

Actually, specialized has a special case, if you already have the skill as a class skill, where it gives a small (+1?) bonus, instead.

So, specialized twice actually would add up to equal a trait, one of the traits, which are all too common, that make a skill a class skill, and give a +1 (trait) bonus to the skill.

I would say, at the likely cost in PP this would take, that it is not out of line to give it that outcome.

You would be specialized and specialized. Its like having the same condition, feat, or class skill multiple times. I don't think it would stack.

PP vanities are usually far short of where this kind of analysis says that they should be.
