Hello, I m playing for my first time PRG (core only) and I was trying to understand the ability "Epic Tale" and "Great Epic Tale" and how they synergize with the different bardic performances.
Now the questions:
1) Is (great) epic tale a bardic performance?
1.1)Is a magical writting piece with the ability/ or effect of 1 bardic performance?
2)To ativate a epic tale, the reader must understand the writting and able to see. (there is a fail check vs blind?)
2.1) Epic tales have no visual and sound components, (other than the letters)?
3)Example: round 1, An (Great) Epic tale was activated that lasts for 4 rounds. Round 2, another different (Great) epic tale was activated with a differnt effect. Does the first Epic tale effect disapears?
4.1)this is similiar to asking if Epic tale does follow the same general rules for the bardic performances:
"Starting a bardic performance is a standard action, but it can be maintained each round as a free action. Changing a bardic performance from one effect to another requires the bard to stop the previous performance and start a new one as a standard action. A bardic performance cannot be disrupted, but it ends immediately if the bard is killed, paralyzed, stunned, knocked unconscious, or otherwise prevented from taking a free action to maintain it each round. A bard cannot have more than one bardic performance in effect at one time."
4.1.1)If (great) Epic tale isn't a Bardic performance, so the reader doesn't need to "maintain the epic tale each round as a free action"?
4.1.2)If the Reader of a (Great) Epic tale is "killed, paralyzed, stunned, knocked unconscious, or otherwise prevented from taking a free action to maintain it each round" it doens't end the effect of (great) epic tale?
4.1.3)Example: a Bard reads a (Great) Epic tale in the next turn start a new Bardic performance?
5) How Shooting performance goes with epic tale? does it cures in the 1º turn? or still need to wait 4 rounds?
6) When the Reader reads aloud a Greater Epic Tales, the others players must be able to see him and hear him, or only to hear him?
7)Can a PhCh use Inspire Action on himself?
