I think this means

Situation
a) Lirianne attempts a combat check and reveals a pistol, saying she also wants to bury it (according to 2)
b) Lirianne uses her power 1 and buries something else instead of the pistol.
c) Lirianne has to roll because her pistol is not buried, if she rolls a 1 or 2 she needs to bury shuffle a card from her hand into her deck (either her pistol or another by using power 1

Is this correct?

I do not think this is correct. She did bury the pistol, but she used another card to perform the bury.

Yeah I agree with Raumac. the card she buried in place of the pistol counts as the pistol for the rest of its ability.

Based on the "cards don't have memories" policy, I'd been playing her like the OP.

That said, if you roll the d12 it's shuffle, not bury...

Yeah, basically, replace "bury this card" with "bury another card" both places where it appears on the pistol. That is what her power does.
