The Thunder Dwarf

Sovereign Court

Hey all! Looking for some help in constructing a Thor-inspired Dwarf Magus. I want a guy that can fly around, toss one-liners, and smack someone really hard with an electrified warhammer, preferably to the face.

Here's what I've got so far:

Stats:
Str 16
Dex 12
Con 14
Int 14
Wis 12
Cha 6

Traits:
Bruising Intellect (Intimidate as int-based skill)
Magical Lineage - Shocking Grasp

Feats:
1 Steel Soul
3 Power Attack
5 Intensify Spell
5M Craft Magic Arms and Armor
7 Cornugon Smash
9 Lunge (or Improved Familiar)
11 Weapon Focus: Warhammer
11M Weapon Specialization: Warhammer

Arcana:
3 Familiar (Raven, Owl, or Armadillo)
6 Spell-Scars
9 Arcane Accuracy
12 Arcane Scent
15 Quickened Magic

I'd really love suggestions for magic items, or a good way to make a Returning Warhammer work out.

Also, to experienced magi: How often did you find yourself using Spellstrike without Spell Combat, vs. Spell Combat with a non-touch spell? Did you often need Arcane Accuracy to hit? What did you like best about playing the class?

Thanks!

While I haven't played one, Magus are very popular in my PFS group. I once sat at a table with 4 Magus at it! From my experience watching (and sometimes, being jealous of) them, they almost exclusively do nothing but Spell Strike with a touch attack (usually Shocking Grasp) over anything else. Doing the Spell Combat thing is cool, but being a 3/4 BAB class, they sometimes have trouble hitting things and prefer to just do the single attack over the dual wielding magic thing.

That being said, yes, the Accuaracy thing comes up pretty regularly. One of the better Magus players used his Arcane Pool pretty much exclusively for the Arcane Accuracy. It helps a ton.

BTW- Love the mental image. +1 for Dwarvenkind!

Hammer of the Thunderbolts is your ultimate goal but well some dms might never let you have one, as it is literally mjollnir and well some dms never give artifacts/relics to players.

Belt of giant strength obviously, fit the myth and hammer swinging in general.

Consider the warhammer being called rather than returning so you can control when it comes back to you. Also makes more sense themactically because Thor does summon Mjolnir by calling out for it or holding out his hand. Apart from that, the familiar doesn't REALLY fit, but there's no need to make a carbon copy. Looks like a solid build to me.

If you play a Hexcrafter, you can take the fly hex and have perfect flight by fifth level.

Scarab Sages

Since you are a dwarf, there is another option than being a Magi: A NG or LN storm, urban, or nature fang druid who worships Torag and has the Blessed Hammer feat.

You can spellstrike your druid touch spells through the hammer, and gain other cool abilities.
