How can you build a Pathfinder version of a Stormlord of Talos from Forgotten Realms?

Please see here: http://www.sundren.org/wiki/index.php?title=Stormlord_of_Talos for the rules and description of what they are in the old rules from FR.

That class is hands down the most fun class I ever played in a pen and paper role playing format and it kills me that I can't find anything like it in Pathfinder.

Or perhaps I can? If you guys know how to build a class using all paizo published materials to create one and not just PFS please share your builds, information or any thoughts.

I realize the Stormlord is an old D&D prestige class but I'm hoping someone with a higher skill in mechanic-fu than I have will be able to approximate the class with existing Pathfinder base/prestige classes.

Appreciate any help. I truly enjoy Pathfinder and I'd love to get a Stormlord type of class rolling again in my next campaign which is just now starting to get together with class and role ideas.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Well, I don't think you're going to get unlimited/day lightning damage buffs on your thrown weapons anywhere in PF material.

On the bright side, that class is remarkably cool and not at all broken from what I can tell. I would allow it in a home game, and I hope your DM would too. I'm no mechanic-fu guru, so I hope someone better than me helps you build it in PF. Good luck.

The obvious answer would by the Storm Kindler prestige class, from the Paths of Prestige book.

You can find it at the Archives of Nethys.

I appreciate that prestige class suggestion but it doesn't do what IMO was the most fun part of a Stormlord: charging up your spear with electricity and sonic damage.

I don't know what "spirit of the storm" does so I can't help with that, but as for the talos aspect replace him with one of the weather deities in Golarion.

I'm wondering if you could combine a cleric with a magus somehow for the magus ability to give weapons various weapon enhancements.

a properly build lightning themed magus works thematically.

Sovereign Court

A bloodrager with Air bloodline, you can imbue your melee weapons with electricity. At higher levels you can transform into a lightning elemental. You can even bypass electricity immunity at higher level.

Why not go for a Magus/Evangelist of Gozreh that way he is still divine but gets all but 1 level of magus and focus on lightning and sonic stuff
