S&S Rulebook Play Example Issue - Missing spell recharges?

I was trying to understand the exact timing of recharging spells since it matters more now with characters who temporarily get Arcane or Divine skills and went to the play example to see how it worked there and I think the "players" only attempt to recharge one of the three Spell cards that were played.

During Lily's First Turn:
Alahazra plays Fear to evade the Buccaneer (no recharge attempted)
Seltyiel plays Force Missile to defeat the Buccaneer (recharged succesfully)

During Amber's First Turn:
Alahazra plays Inflict to defeat Jemma Redclaw (no recharge attempted)

Perhaps Alahazra was blind and just couldn't read the Recharge text ;)
Of course it could also have been a strategy to later swap out Fear & Inflict for other Divine cards with Alahazra's power...


Well, you don't technically have to attempt the recharge check, though I'm not sure that is what is going on there.

For reference, during an encounter recharge checks are covered in the "Attempt the next check, if needed" step.

S&S Rulebook p11 wrote:
Attempt the Next Check, If Needed. If another check is required, resolve it now. For example, some boons allow you to attempt a check to recharge them after you play them, and some banes require a second check to defeat. Repeat this step until you have resolved all such checks.

That same step is where the second check of a "2 check" encounter is attempted. And you repeat that step as many times as needed.
