I don't know if this has been answered anywhere else, but I didn't find anything. Why are guns both piercing and bludgeoning?
Piercing, because it makes a hole.
Bludgeoning, because it works against skeletons.
You could argue that most modern firearms are only piercing, but early ones certainly could break bones as well as make holes in people.
