@John, MIke,
Just thought I'd check in and see if there was any news on this. I realize that it's not a high priority, but all eight of us (with me accounting for two of those) have been waiting since the play test if crafting would be reinstated.
John gave us hope with this:

Investigator Crafting
Typically Mike and I discuss these decisions before ruling, so having not had an opportunity to confirm my inclination, I can't give a 100% certified answer; it's just something we didn't cover while going through all of the book's other options during our Additional Resources meeting. That said, I strongly suspect investigators will be able to craft in the same way that alchemists craft.
Thanks for any reply.

Alchemists can only "craft"...
1) Mutagens
2) Bombs
3) Extracts.
Which are all class features. Mutagens being a temporary buff they can give themselves, bombs their main weapon, and extracts are the alchemist's "spells".
Outside of that, alchemists and other classes cannot craft. Its why alchemists get their Brew Potion feat replaced with Extra Bombs. Its why practically every other arcane/divine class that even gets a craft-based feat has that feat replaced for the sake of PFS.
I will be very skeptic about true crafting ever being allowed until I see it with my own two eyes.

You missed one. Alchemists can also craft alchemical items using the normal rules, which is what this thread is asking if Investigators can do, too.

Incorrect.
Alchemist can craft alchemical items. It's been in the FAQ for a few years.
Hopefully that will be opened up to Investigator's. Though I'd love to see Underground Chemist get that as well.

I politely thank for the pointing of my folly for missing the crafting of alchemical items. However I still stand at what I said, I will be a skeptic about it being reimplemented for others aside from the alchemist until I see it with my own two eyes.
Alchemists can craft alchemical items in PFS because doing so is one of their core class features (which is the same reason wizards can upgrade their arcane bond items).
Investigators have the same class feature. Same name, same effects, everything.

I'm going out on a limb and guessing that Investigators being able to craft or not will depend on the judge at the table.
I would allow them to (they are after all, part Alchemist... being a mix of Alchemist and Rogue). perhaps Amenko would not. YMMV... at least until there is an FAQ on this subject (and likely even after).
so FAQ the original post... perhaps we'll get a response.

Thanks :-) My search-fu was weak.

Yup, they can craft using the same rules as Alchemists.
Add this to the list of things that would be great to be added to the FAQ so we can find it again :)
