Confused about Pawn prices

Product Discussion

So because Paizo does not take paypal and the fact that I refuse to take a credit card just to order Paizo stuff, I browsed around the net to see if i could order it from other vendors. That proved to be quite easy but what surprised me was that it was a whole lot cheaper too. (and that is without the free shipping.)

How is that possible? Shouldn't buying at the source be the cheapest way to get a product?

Might it be you compared the Adventure Path pawns (~$20) with a Bestiary pawns box (~$40)?

No Franz,

I am comparing the NPC codex with the NPC codex, and Bestiary 1,2,3,4 with Bestiary 1,2,3,4.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Paizo don't discount the prices on their web store below retail (except for those willing to subscribe) to help support local gaming stores. As it is, they get some flak for being both a publisher and a retailer - it would be even worse if they also undercut them.

Ah well that makes sense, so probably got lucky and found one that was trying to get rid of its stock. I figured that being a publisher and retailer, that it wouldn't be possible to beat their prices, but good to see they are being gracious in business.

Also any reason why they do not take pay-pall

Yeah, it's got something to do with Paypal's terms of use:

The answer I've seen before is the way pay-pal processes the payment/authorization timing is completely incompatible with the way they process subscription orders. As subscription orders are a main keystone to their business model, they don't really want to make changes to it where not absolutely necessary.

That said, they have also mentioned that pay-pal does gave a way of setting up a card number based on your pay-pal account that can be used here...

Yeah but that is only if you live in the states. So for Euro-players not the best way to go.

Most European debit cards work with Paizo without any problems. I have two debit cards in different banks, and both are OK.

They Do, that is interesting, i will check that out.

@Gorbacz how did you set it up? I can't seem to find a way to set one up
