So the rings of wizardry I through IV are priced 20,000, 40,000, 70,000, and 100,000 gp respectively. I know 3.0 epic level had prices for rings of V and above, but that book was pretty terrible. Also, the items seem overpriced (a ring of wizardry V in 3.0 cost more than a staff of power).
So, from the semi-formula I see here, a ring of wizardry V would be between 130K and 150K in gp.
But of course formulas are only a guide, and just as the cleric has no 7th-level equivalent of the wizard's limited wish for game balance reasons, there might be something about level 5+ spells I'm overlooking that should make the item much more expensive, if not a bad idea to put in games altogether.
So is that the case? Would you include a ring of wizardry V in your game, and at what price point? (Keeping in mind that players shouldn't own any single item worth more than 25% of their total assets, so it probably wouldn't be available to a standard character until level 18 or above).

I think it's the same reason there are no wands above 4th - you start getting into an area in which being able to throw a ton of spells at a certain level might be a problem.
For example, you could use a Ring of Wizardry V to prep a bunch of quickened true strikes - pretty strong!
I'd definitely get one for my sorcerer (lvl 18), just to double the number of times she can cast telekinesis, on of the stronger spells in the game. Obviously, the rings of wizardry are especially strong for sorcerers.
I'd love it as a player, and dislike it as a GM, which is my metric for "overpowered". That said, it's not particularly overpowered - I just know that in the hands of certain players, it could be nasty. Likewise with wands or 5th level and above spells.
Mostly it's an arbitrary division, though.

True, but bear in mind that the Ring of Wizardry types I to IV predate Pathfinder.
Most of the magic items in Pathfinder are legacies of a previous game, so they don't necessarily reflect mechanics peculiar to Pathfinder.
