full-attack action

Rules Questions

Horrible feeling that this is going to be a previously addressed question but I couldn't find an answer in the multiple threads.

Is "full-attack action" synonymous with "full round action"? Ie, does Monk's flurry of blows "a monk can make a flurry of blows as a full-attack action" take a full round, or can he also take a move action?

It is synonymous… A full attack action takes a full round.

Flurry of blows essentially is a 2 weapon fighting full attack except you don't need the feats

But you can also take a 5 foot step in the same round regardless.

In essence, no move action for you (except 5 ft . step)

Hope that helps!

Full attacks are a kind of full round action, yes. So typically, you cannot move and full attack in the same round.

...Typically.

Ignoring stuff like pounce (which only shows up on certain classes) and mythic powers (you game might not have these), there is a way to consistently get in a change of location with the Dimensional Dervish Feat.

This feat allows you to use abundant step (which is essentially dimensional door) as a swift action when doing a full attack.

This can be accomplished at level 13...which is just a bit later than most pounce options, honestly. Until then...you just have to deal with movement and full attacks like pretty much everyone else.

Cool, thanks!

Yeah sorry, forgot to mention Pounce and Dimensional Hopping chain…

I'm playing a pouncing Barbarian in a campaign right now in fact!

Good luck with your monk!
