Classes for a vampire

Advice

My DM has let our group be a very interesting group of misfits, and I was trying to make the mechanics try to catch the fluff of my character. It is to be a vampiric knight with some spell casting ability. That would point to divine casting, but his god and lord are both arcane casters, and we can build our characters using gestalt rules.

My thought is to throw sorcerer with another class, whether an blackguard, knight, what have you. I imagine him in heavy plate armor, so barb is off the table, and I am not too much a fan of fighters or the magus for this character. What are some recommendations?

Liberty's Edge

(Anti)Paladin/Oracle Gestalt. Maximizes Charisma and has full casting/BAB/Armor.

Depending on your curse and Mystery you will be more or less arcane in nature, or if you character was an elf/half elf prior to the conversion to Vamp, you could always take the Ancient Lorekeeper Oracle Archetype and pick up some Arcane spells to add to your list.

IMO, Cavalier is always the better choice when you're making a knight who doesn't want all the hassle of divine accountability. It doesn't have the restrictions that Paladins do and it's not ingrained with the righteous/divine warrior flavor that you have with Palies. When I think of a vampire Antipaladin, I've got this image of a dark crusader brimming with profane powers. If you want something more in accordance with an arcane-charged knight, mix Cavalier with sorcerer or some other cha caster. Bard, while not a full caster, has got a great spell list and his performances might make some interesting synergy with the Cavalier's minor buffs.

Just a note, Barbs can wear Heavy armor, you just need to buy a Feat. Or take that one Heavy armored archetype.

Also, Inquisitor works well for a vampire.

See everything. Know everything.

Inquisitor/Fighter (or Cavalier, or Paladin, or anything really) could be brutal.

I would also support a Bard. Vampires are crafty, charismatic buggers. Natural leaders, and talented. I'd support a gestalt Paladin/Bard. I think it would make a great fit for a Vampire Knight.

Lots of great suggestions. Thanks guys! I will look at bard, didn't even think of that. Cavalier has a lot I like, and I can get spellcasting from my other class, and I saw an order that let me get easy grapples, so that would help biting people.
