Weedwhip Shape

So, using Plant Shape I for Weedwhip....

You get +2 Str, +2 Con, +2 NA
Speed becomes 10'
You gain 3 tentacle attacks with 15' reach and Poison

So far, so good. Here's the questions:

1) The poison is contact. Does that mean I can make melee touch attacks to poison (forgoing damage, but targetting touch AC)?

2) Since 'Languid Whips' isn't a listed ability I gain, does this mean that I don't get it, and therefore can threaten and make attacks of opportunity within my 15' reach?

I'm bumping this as I particularly need a response to #1. I'm pretty sure #2 is correct, and makes some sense in terms of flavor too. #1, however, came up in a game a week ago and there was a dispute over the answer, so I'd like to tap into the wisdom of the forums.

The point of contentions are as follows.

In favor of no> Weedwhip does not mention a touch attack in its description, only a normal attack that delivers poison, thus you must make a regular attack vs. AC in order to use said poison.

In favor of yes> The weedwhip attack, which is vs. AC, does damage in addition to poison. A touch attack would only deal poison and not damage, which isn't likely to be an attack that a plant is going to use. The poison is contact, and therefore should be deliverable with a touch attack, but doing so would do no regular damage, just the poison. In order to do damage along with the poison, a regular attack vs AC is needed.

My belief is that of the 'in favor of yes', although I can see where the 'no' camp is coming from. Most poisons tied into attacks are 'injury' and so the damage is required. I'm not so sure about 'contact' poisons though. If I'm wrong, that's fine, but I'd like to know one way or the other.

My thoughts.

1) Yes, you could use touch attacks, deal no damage, and deliver the poison(10+1/2 your level + Con mod).

2) yes. The spells tell you exactly what you get from the creature.
